wasted my wish tokens on ascendant shards AMA
the first question ill handle for you, "Are you stupid?"
very

on a serious note i wish it were made a bit more apparent to less-experienced/knowledgeable players that the weapons are in fact locked behind a forsaken raid if you ever want to see them again, and are very good. to me, they looked like the same slop you would see from the vanguard/gambit pool (although there's some niche good things in there) so i chose to skip out on them and take materials i desperately needed. i only after, was told by other players that i had made an incredibly stupid mistake due to being uninformed.

requires forsaken also that's a lot of grinding and using deepsights that could've been avoided

so its bungies fault that you made an uninformed decision? and the information was readily available? and the fact that you can get ascendant shards in like 10 other places but you can only get Last Wish weapons from doing Last Wish?
Worth noting that a lot of weapons can be obtained by the free raid chests per character per week.

not bungie's fault but it could've been more apparent. you throw a relatively new player to a shop ui where they can buy exotic-tier materials they've only gotten a few of, or a few more weapons that just look like ordinary weapons, what do you think they'll pick?

requires forsaken though, i wouldn't mind grinding them out since they are definitely worth it

you can get the first chest by going out of bounds in patrol, its a bit tricky for a new player but you can do it. also if you know the currency is very scarce you should inform urself before spending it freely

To be honest those materials are probably more valuable to a new player than a couple of raid weapons. There are so e great weapons there but they won't define your build in the way a piece of exotic armour will.

To echo the previous comment, if you are new to the game the shards are probably a better investment. While there are some good guns in Last Wish none of them are so good that you cant find a perfectly adequate alternative else where.

And if you do ever decide to pick up the Forsaken pack when its on sale in the future Last Wish is probably the easiest raid to farm all the weapon patterns from. What with the weekly red boarder quest from Hawthorn, the solo-able secret chest you can get each week 3 times, the first boss being an easy farm on feature week not to mention that the whole raid in general is pretty easy once you learn the mechanics.

I think you could start another character.

That will change absolutely nothing as those are account based quests.

i want ask you need 5 tokens to unlock that wep for crafting like with normal weps? or it unlocks with one token

You would need a token for each weapon and then a harmoniser to extract the pattern from each. So 5 tokens + 5 harmonisers to get one full pattern (assuming you were starting from zero pattern progress)

Generally speaking, not worth it. However, if you do not have the Forsaken pack, this will allow you to get Last Wish weapons without purchase. But if you do own Forsaken then it is 100% not worth.

EDIT: Has been pointed out that I was wrong. You only need the tokens, no harmonisers required. Sorry for the misinfo. Shout outs to Horn for keeping me right.

Wasn't the whole point of wishes that the guns come with a red border right away, meaning you don't have to use a harmoniser?
