Free Battlepass?!

So I just logged into the game and got the battlepass for free. I saw the expansions could be played for free but did some glitch happen? I got the battlepass rn and there is still 27 days left.

My friend is on a Free to play and he just got the three for this year AND he said LIghtfall was free. So I dont know how to get it going....if it’s free.

Bungie calls it a Season pass and what you call a Battle Pass they call a Rewards Track. Who do you think you are? What has inventing got to do with this, no one said anything about inventing anything. I don't think Destiny 2 meets the requirements to be an MMO, but I'm not going to tell them they can't call it what they want, even though I think it's stupid.
