Free Battlepass?!

So I just logged into the game and got the battlepass for free. I saw the expansions could be played for free but did some glitch happen? I got the battlepass rn and there is still 27 days left.

Bungie made all of this year's seasons and access to Shadowkeep, Beyond Light and Witch Queen free for all until the launch of the Final Shape on June 4th

Destiny 2 does not have a “battlepass, you’re thinking of Fortnite. Destiny 2 has season passes which are currently free to everyone until June 4th 2024.

No, A battlepass litterally is the unlock feature (The thing where you grind 100 levels for mostly cosmetics in other games).

Fortnite didnt 'define' the term battle pass..

Season passes itself are generally downloable content. The progression part is 100% a battle pass. Why else do you offer a 'free tier' and a 'premium' tier huh?... Stop spreading missinformation and get yourself informed

And does the free stuff include being able to get the Strand abilities? Someone was telling me it was included and I dont think it is but I want to know for sure.

Only if you have already unlocked them.

Yes, but once the free DLC period ends, you will lose access to Strand unless you purchase the DLC.

Well I never bought the Lightfall on my account but I bought all the other past DLC's so I didnt know. I click on the campaign and it told me I have to buy it.

My friend is on a Free to play and he just got the three for this year AND he said LIghtfall was free. So I dont know how to get it going....if its free.

That is what I read so I was confused about the guy saying you could get strand.

Season Passes may look like Battle Passes, but that term has never been listed in the content of this game. Only people getting the term from other games call it that.

Didnt they say somewhere that 'Anything you unlock during the time you will keep" so I assume you dont get to keep it.

You're wrong. That part specifically IS a battle pass, no matter if its apart of a season pass.

Do understand the two differences.

Season pass = seasonal content. The battle pass premium tier IN SIDE the season passes are NOT 'content'.

It dont matter if the 'term' wasnt used. It acts as the same.
