Unlocking Cyst Missions is so confusing

Compared to how we gathered Fragments in Beyond Light this is huge improvement, but it still sucks.

The only Cyst I have available is Sword Dance that does not even have shimmering enemies. I did this 3 times and it is the same quest on repeat. I heard that I need to do Overthrow in order to pop a Cyst mission - I did 2 full Overthrown and nothing, nothing happened.

Do I actually need to pick all the Final Days quests for Micha? Or I need to do Sword Dance again in case there is something in this mission that I missed.

You run through Micah-10's repeatable 'Alone in the Dark' mission, a number of times, those will go through the first three cysts, then show you how to 'invert' a cyst to swap them to their alternate versions (ie, Sword Dance -> Moth-Infested Cavern).

Are you saying you have the quest already and it's not updating/changing?

It is Sword Dance again and again. Same mission with the Hive Sword and the 3 Hive Guardians in the end.

So you're doing a full run of Alone in the Dark - find the ghost, do Overthrow, do the Cyst, drop the ghost off. Then when you pick it up again, it's the same variant, for the Landing?

Weird!

Did you maybe pick the quest up on multiple characters?
I wonder if having the first instance of the quest on one character, could somehow lock it to that first one variant on the one who you are playing on.

The game literally holds your hand until you've unlocked all 6.

What are you talking about "Shimmering mobs", are you trying to get the Secret Exotic before you've even played the quests ?

There's no shimmering mobs. Micah-10 gives you a quest called Alone in the Dark. You go to a Lost Sector to find a Ghost. You do the Overthrow in the area where the Lost Sector was. You proceed to the Cyst. You turn in.

You acquire Alone in the Dark again. Rinse and repeat until all 6 Cysts are unlocked.

you need to do alone in the dark 6 times to have the swap mode unlock the final 2 are boss kills which is easy

Ok, but that has nothing to do with unlocking Cysts.

You're mixing 2 things. Concentrate on unlocking the Pale Heart entirely before you start farming the Prismatic stuff.

All right, do I actually need to do Overgrown after Sword Dance? Or I need to do the Strike Quests to unlock more Cysts. Currently I Only have Sword Dance and that's all.

Just make sure you are done all the Alone in the Dark missions before anything I started this and already had 11 motes found normally and I never did any of the Alone in the Dark missions and only had 1 Cyst unlocked, I then did all the missions as it brings you to all the Cysts during those missions. If you know which mission you are in during the Alone in the Dark missions you can just find the bits during those missions or else you have to redo them again.

I figured out that, I should actually visit Lost Sectors in different areas so I can proceed with the next cyst. Problem solved
