Need guidance to help improve in pvp/trials
Hello everyone, please call me Ollie.

I'm not the best in pvp, lack of experience is the main cause. My kd is pretty low in trials because i'm against better more experience players. I was curious if anyone is willing to help improve my 1v1 skills so i can have a more enjoyable trials/comp experience instead of being farmed by flawless players every other game.

My regular kd in crucible is around 1.5-2. This isn't unusual as my kd in call of duty back in the day was around a 2.0. I just want people to fully understand that destiny isn't my first pvp game.

I fully understand "noobs" like myself some will say are annoying to play with in trials because we make "stupid decisions". I take full responsibility of my own stupidity, but its not nearly as annoying being farmed my flawless duos game after game when players like myself are trying to improve and go flawless. But sadly i dont know where i'm going wrong because I've never had help from experience players in the pvp game-mode. So having someone slap me now and again and giving me logical and helpful advice will help me improve, the main thing i do in trials is follow everyone around like a lost puppy so i'm not eliminated.

Going flawless isn't in my main interest, being better than other players is. Having someone better than me annoys me, so i try to grind and become better than them, that's mainly how i think. But obviously going flawless would be nice, but being a better player is where i tend to stand which is why i play trials so i can become the best.

I hope this post does not annoy anyone for whatever reason, i'm obviously struggling in pvp/trials and was hoping someone more experience will assist me in my journey to become a better player. I've seen my fair share of toxic individuals complaining about my poor performance. Anyway my destiny id is below if any friendly/chill individual is willing to help me out that would be grate, but no pressure as i fully understand your all probably busy.

I hope everyone enjoys there day. :)

Step 1. = Get Dead Man´s Tale / or other good scout- or pulse rifle
Step 2. = get used to gun
Step 3. = load in crucible and equip any good shotgun
Step 4. = use any annoying subclass
Step 5. = Watch Shaxx praise you for carrying whole team

Use the 70/30 rule. 70 percent of your body should always be behind cover. If that doesn't work use the 80/20 rule. When shooting from cover stand back like 5 feet from the wall. Don't stand right against the wall. You'll be able to get better angles faster. After shooting from behind the wall immediately move back because they are going to throw a nade your way. That's another reason not to stand close to cover. When shooting, shoot from the hip first and then ads. You'll land shoots on target quicker that way,Also let other players push in and team shoot with them BUT WHAT EVER YOU DO DON'T BREAK THE 70/30 RULE BY FOLLOWING THEM AROUND.ALWAYS REMEMBER THE 70/30 RULE.If you do you'll see your game play style change over time and more opportunities will show up for kills by not running around like chicken with your head cut off. People always focus on gear and weapons to much in Destiny imo. Practice this and you'll see your KD go up easily.

Play Rumble and 3v3. It is less chaotic than 6v6 which makes it a bit easier to process what is going on.
Core principles of FPS:
Aim
Map awareness
Player behavior (tm8s and opponents)
Timing

Most of us lack a friend who's amazing at the game. I suggest you watch IFrostBolt and Zkmushroom. They are entertaining and very good at the game. While it's not as good as first-hand feedback, you can analyze their actions. Why? When? How?

To better develop an eye for these things IFrostbolt made several videos to teach PVP. (As well as many other people). Some are him coaching someone directly, and others are videos of him describing his actions and thought process.

Hope that helps. The process is much slower compared to being coached directly but with time, effort, and reflection you can progress.
I don't go into details because I feel like watching coaching videos will do you justice better than reading a text. Visual cues are easier to understand.
