Chronological Order?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Destiny 2 and want to experience the story in chronological order. Is it possible to play the game this way, or are there content limitations or changes that prevent it? Also, could someone provide the correct sequence to follow, including all the expansions.

I bought all Destiny 2 expansions last year but never got around to playing them. Now, I’m wondering if I need to buy the latest expansion to fully enjoy all the previous content, or if I can still play what I have and get the full experience.

Timeline is in the top right corner of the Director it'll show you the order to do any content in for story.
