Superblack Shader Ruined Creativity
With the recent return of that shader, everyone and their grandmother wears it now. Frankly, it RARELY looks good, which is a bummer because I really enjoyed seeing all the interesting shader combinations and would look at others for inspiration for mine. Nowadays I rarely hand out the "best dressed" accolade

I still can't switch off from Calus' Chosen shader, the very first white and gold shader from the Leviathian raid from Vanilla D2.

I like being able to turn off obnoxious patterns on guns that configs of other shaders either don't help fix or actively make it worse.

Although on Armor I agree.

I use Skele-Ghaul (think that's what it's called) on my hunter with:
  • The Eternal Vengeance chestplate, boots, and cloak.
  • Hardened Basilisk gauntlets (I don't have Eternal Vengeance gauntlets) or Shards of Galanor with the Deathwish skin.
  • Either Celestial Nighthawk or the Techeun's Regalia for my purple helmet.

Superblack generally looks okay on my weapons but boring on my armor. I like a little more color than a straight black color on my armor (straight all black color on armor looks too bland and "stupid" imo).
Some other good shaders I've found for armor were:
  • Crucible Redjack is good for darker red colors but I like it more on my weapons.
  • If you're okay with buying something with silver, I recommend the VoG shader pack (Omnichromia and whatever the other one was called). The white one looks nice but the bronze one looks amazing. Only thing I ever bought with silver and I don't regret it.
  • Erebos Glance is a bit more niche for me but I have my warlock using the ornaments from Season of the Hunt (think that's where it was from but it's the set that has a Cursed Thrall head on the belt). Erebos Glance fits really well for that armor set imo.
  • Shrouded Stripes (really old shader for vets from Forsaken IIRC) is also under that "all black" shader category but it has tiger stripe camo on it. Looks better than Superblack imo.
  • Calus' Chosen from the original Leviathan raid is really good but I like the one from the Curse of Osiris raid a little better. Calus' Elite IIRC is a blackish color with gold but it's been a while since I used it on armor.

I still love my Vintage Timber and Oiled Algae tbh.

I have the shader, but I'm not everyone or a grandmother.

The motivation was to show EVERY color the shader applies instead of just a few of them, or something.

Here we go: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/twid-05-02-2024

"With The Final Shape, we're upgrading the look and design of the shader icon layout. Shaders are a core way a player can provide a unique look and feel to their Guardian, and we wanted to help continue to make that a better experience. Our goal with this update is to help make the shader icons more accurately reflect the colors and textures they will apply.

Currently, there are some issues that can make the experience of applying a shader inconsistent. The first being that, while each shader applies six colors, only four are currently shown on the shader icon. This can sometimes result in the shader appearing differently than players may expect from the icon preview.

Adding to this is the fact that all four color sections of the current shader icon are equal in shape and size, making it difficult to distinguish what the main colors will be when applied. There are also many shaders that have unique glows that players strive for, and with the current design, they are not represented."

Only for those who are uncreative, black is nice on some weapons but on armour is just boring to me. Thankfully i had most of what i used Favorited before this change that makes it painful to look at the shader page. It needed to change but its gone the wrong way about it.

imagine being mad at a color because you have some type of elitist feelings.

People only using super black were never creative. Nothing Lost.

The only problem with shaders is that we can't sell back shaders we don't like/need. Which would also help relieve some players trash gpu shader memory/disk storage collection, loading times so on and so forth.

Imbecile. You cannot believe you are creative for buying an in-game cosmetic. The work of others are not that of your own.
The game has lots of loading issues, being able to force 1 shader on everything is great.

This happens a lot here, you post something questioning something, and they say you're mad.
Simply beyond understanding.
