Lightfall exotic rewards missing

Returning player here. I did lightfall campaign quest on normal difficulty, then went back and did all the missions on legendary difficulty from the map (not in order though), but I didn't get to choose an exotic or any of the other rewards, anyone got a solution?

Yes, start and play a legend campaign, from start to finish as you did on normal. the exotic is a reward for doing the legend campaign.

So if I want the loot, I'd have to do another save file and start it as legendary from the beginning?

You'd just have to do the campaign replay, but at this point I wouldn't worry too much about it, just collect exotic engrams and decrypt them at rahool to unlock the tier 3 focusing, which will let you get all the new exotics as well as higher stats than you'd typically receive from the campaign reward.
