3D Sound Fix, when Bungie?

Yes, the game also works without 3D audio. But with 3D audio like Atmos and good speakers, it's like night and day. You can hear every detail left, right, front, back and you don't have to turn the volume all the way up to hear something properly, etc.

Did they really fix it? I was trying to figure out whether or not there was something wrong with my headphones today when I noticed that sound seemed very uniform from all sides.
