is it worth getting into in 2024
I played destiny 1 throughout its lifespan and loved it and destiny 2 day 1 but stopped playing a while back. Is it worth getting into again if i don't want to play consistently, is grinding for items not as big of a pain as i remember?

I was actually big on destiny 1 and just recently got destiny 2 (last week or so). I actually enjoy the beginning, very similar to destiny 1 and have been finding myself having fun. There are a lot of story lines in Destiny 2, so just prepar for that. You will need to grind for exotic weapons if you want them.

its fantastic and absolutely worth getting into. Ignore the people spamming no, they are either trolls or people whining about the server issues today (which will obviously be fixed soon). It's easily the most densely packed game for content on the market. There is really no game that offers as much stuff to do.

End game gear is locked behind raids which requires you to buy DLC and in game currency dungeon key which is sold separately unless you buy annual pass which cost $100 and for the older DLC you'll be required to purchase dungeon keys which cost $20 per DLC dungeon.

So if you don't raid for gear and prefer solo you're outta luck unless you spend $20 for dungeon keys which still requires a party of 3.

End of the day. You'll be spending a ton of money playing this game.

Yes if it's your first time playing in years there's a lot of content. However, end game gear is usually locked behind raids (they recently made a guardian finder so thats okay) and dungeon keys that you have to buy. I don't think the dungeons are worth it though. Have fun.
