Problem is new player experience is considered to be really bad. And not having someone to show you the ropes often repel a good amount of new players from the enjoyable chunks of the game.
there is matchmaking or group finders for all content so all up to you
Alot of the earlier stuff is very solo friendly, but the more recent content has been needlessly challenging with the rewards being the same.......very crap, it just isn't worth doing, unless you relish dying multiple times just got some glimmer and an item you will most likely just dismantle.
But it is true what they say, you will enjoy it better if you have a fire team of IRL friends.
I can´t say for you, but my all my five friends who got the game in 2022 say otherwise. They quit before even getting to even try dungeons or even strikes because how boring the experience was.
I joined in 2019 where the new player experience was actually still quite engaging, and yes I love it. But one could only like the game if they are trying to actually like the game. Without certain tolerance to the game´s flaw, it´s just really expensive shooter to get into.
