Any reason not to delete all old characters and start over?
I haven't played in a couple years and logging into my characters they're all doing various things I don't even remember. Plus I'm getting all these cutscenes popping up for stuff that I assume are expansions I now own but haven't begun yet because they were never out when I last played.

So I'm thinking, just move all my existing stuff that maybe I'd like to keep a copy of into the vault and then nuke the characters and start fresh. Any reason not to do this?

Oh and I own everything except Lightfall and Final Shape.

You would have to unlock certain subclasses again, if you have unlocked them. I'm not sure if anything is gained by doing this, the pop-ups subside.

I guess I just want to minimize the confusion on what to do. But maybe that will come right back even on a new character so... who knows.

You will still get the cutscenes.

Yeah, this is true. The game nowadays bombards you with that stuff after you log in again after setting it down for a little bit. Hell, can even yank you aside to do an intro quests regardless of whether or not you actually have a ship (though the game does let you return to the Cosmodrome).

I remember when the game would throw New Lights, who wouldn't even have access to anti-champion mods, into Dares of Eternity.

I did this a couple years ago when I came back, and it was *awful*. Sure, you now know exactly what's going on, but it takes *forever* to get back to the point you were at, and it'd be a lot quicker and easier to just go to Youtube and look up the few quests that you currently have going.

I feel this. That's just what being a returning player is like. Starting a new character will be even more overwhelming. I really wish they would keep progression linear instead of encouraging you to do everything from everywhere all of the time, all at once.

...try out new light from Ikora? Ignore that point then...
Why delete the characters? Sure to start from square one...but why? Just keep them...or one at least.

I have done that before in games. And even this one. You don't play for awhile. You lost track of all the stories and don't know what the heck is going on. Your kind of lost of what to do However it takes a long time to get through the content in this game. Thats a pretty good undertaking.
