Yeah, this is true. The game nowadays bombards you with that stuff after you log in again after setting it down for a little bit. Hell, can even yank you aside to do an intro quests regardless of whether or not you actually have a ship (though the game does let you return to the Cosmodrome).
I remember when the game would throw New Lights, who wouldn't even have access to anti-champion mods, into Dares of Eternity.
Why delete the characters? Sure to start from square one...but why? Just keep them...or one at least.
