wheres this game going after final shape??

Whats the point of getting into the game again if the Final Shape will be the last big expansion? If not than how many years is this game expected to go for?
I really wanna get into this and make some raid friends etc etc, but i feel like it will be a big waste of time and money after 6 months or so

There's been a roadmap for the whole year ahead for a while now, so the game will still get content.
As to "where this game going" I heard one of the content creators who got access early say that he was told by bungie that we will get definitive answers once we complete the final shape raid.

Thats true, its just i could either dedicate time and effort into making new mates/ grinding etc in Destiny, or dedicate time and effort into something i know will be around for the foreseeable future. But yeah i should atleast wait for the final shape reviews and to see where they want to take the game.

Plus ill be hooking right into Dawntrail when that drops, so maybe i just focus entirely on ffxiv instead

They talked about having a 10 - year road map way back in D1. I suppose that map is almost complete by now. All good things must come to an end it would seem. This game desperately needs a D3 engine but as of right now Sony doesn't like the revenue D2 is generating so I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

vault more things so people lose what they bought and then bring out another dlc that cost 50 usd idk how people dont see this game is a money taker bungie doesnt real care about the exprince warframe is a free to play game similar to desitny 2 and has much better story and also has in game trading its also crazy you need to pay for a dugneon key and for the dlc why the dungeon is not comeing with the 50 usd dlc ? this shows us they just want money it doesnt make any sense for a dungeon to be bought solo whats next we buy a dlc and pay for the raid ?

It's not the last 'Big expansion", its the last expansion of the Light and Dark saga, there will still be more Expansions coming in the future.

Hopefully a Destiny 3 not held back by the Crucible and single exotic armor equips. Where they can go full Borderlands guns, and get more creative with the abilities from the ground up. They're already making a dedicated PvP game after all. So a Destiny title allowed to cut loose without PvP balancing and with all the lessons they hopefully learned about the subclasses they would possibly make something genuinely a fantastic step forward.

The onus for this lays solely at bungies feet. They chose to neglect PvP. They chose and continue to choose to balance their games poorly and to be lazy and careless about how they balance things. A destiny 3 won't change anything, bungie has to choose to do things right. The mysterious 3rd party you are blaming here IS bungie.

And they probably won't ever allow people to wear more than one exotic which is unfortunate.

I wasn't talking about a third party. Bungie effed up trying to balance a PvP experience in a looter shooter. And I'm hoping if they do make a sequel, they'll exclude PvP altogether so they can go nuts with thee guns and abilities. I didn't think that was a difficult paragraph to understand by me. They ended up neglecting PvP anyway in spite of it holding the game's design philosophy back with our guardiians. There is no mysterious 3rd party. Bungie screwed up, and they at least have the potential to not do so with a new Destiny game. Doesn't mean I'm hopefully they'll achieve it given the state of launch Destiny 2, but yeah. Could not be more clear.

or will it be still destiny 2, because to leave destiny 2 for all the money spent i think that would just be cruel for bungie to do that, if you spend a bunch of money and then i have to install destiny 3? like what if you dont have space, do you just have to choose between d3 and d2?
