Can't Kill Enemies From Titan Public Events
I can't kill them. Whenever I try to blast them in the face with any of my weapons, it just says "immune" whenever the rounds hit. However, all other players in the area can damage and kill them. Not even my grenades or nova bomb harms the public event enemies.

You have to make the 2 bosses to come closer to each other I believe. This takes off their shield immunity. I hope im not wrong.

The new public events that are taking place require a fairly high power level.
You will find an icon on the enemies life bar that signifies they are beyond your capabilities.
To damage them, you will need a higher light level.
to damage the enemies in the contact public event you need to be ATLEAST 1025 power level if you wanna do some damage but youll need to be 1030 if you want to participate in the heroic mode

I think the recommended level for Contact is 1040? If other players are hitting them but you can't, then it sounds like you are quite some levels below that.

If something is immune to your damage that means it's about 50+ power levels higher than you. If you wanna do Contact the lowest you can do it at is around 1010-1015 but you'll be in for a rough time.

100, actually, was changed a while ago. But as they say, enemies have a symbol by their healthbar that gives you an idea of how high their power is compared to you: a simple grey symbol you are likely used to means you are even or above them, a red sword means they are a bit higher, a skull means they are much higher, and I think question marks means they are too strong for you to even damage. The Contact public event is from the newest season, and requires that you have power at least somewhere near the new cap to do stuff in, at least 1000 would be reasonable.

Just checked him out on D2T he's only 807 guess that would be why he can't fight any of the Contact enemies.

I'm in the game and just hovered cursor over the Contact event on Titan. It says recommended power: 990

That's for the first stage, but since it goes up to 1040 for the final stage if you're not at least 940 you can't do anything.

Yeah, I wonder what happens if 3 brave guardians, who are 990, start the event. Will they even make it to the last stage? The tougher mobs will probably 1-shot them left and right. I guess there is also little chance of triggering the heroic version at that level.

Kinda ridiculous considering the game expects you to go to Titan basically right after you finish EDK. And I did exactly that.

OK but Contact is part of this season as an event that changes locations every week. It is completely optional and is not something you go do while doing the main story.

I often passed through the area while trying to traverse the map, and it makes you auto-join the event. And then I keep getting one-shotted by the overpowered enemies. Bungie should at least give the lower-level players a chance of defending themselves.

Same problem here. I went to Titan to do the intro quests, walked out the door from the quest-giver, and BOOM! One-shotted by a high level enemy. This repeated a few times and I decided to log off. Utterly idiotic game design. Such a high level event should not spawn anywhere near an area that a new player has to go through.

Just stay away from the event? They spawn in areas that are easy to avoid if you so choose.
