1) It will upset hoarders who have spent 5000+ hours on the game, collected a bunch of weapons, armor, titles, and so on.
2) It will require them to, well, actualy make Destiny 3. You know, not just make one planet a year, but actually make a new big game, with several new planets, strikes, pvp maps, new weapons, and so on. Why bother when you can just put together one planet a year with a crumb of content and crappy seasons and sell it for 100 bucks?
Although... If they released Beyond Light content separately from the game in 2020 under the name of Destiny 3, I think the local defenders of the multi-million dollar company would justify that too.
Bungie didn't even want to make Destiny 2, they had a ten year plan for Destiny. Activision is the only reason we have Desiny 2. Destiny 2 is better now than it was.
1 Oh no, people don't want to start over, how awful that they want to keep what they have. You know those with over 5K hour and how they are, like you with 5,740.
2 For them to do what you want, it would have been two or three year wait to get that done.
Beyond Light WAS Destiny 3 if they had stayed with Activision, they didn't want to make a Destiny 3 any more than they wanted to make a Destiny 2. Shadowkeep was filler, they admitted that, it was priced accordingly, $35.00 including a season pass.
It's not that hard to look into the things they said and figure out that the slopy code they threw together was hard to bring up to specs to run on the updated engine that Beyond Light was on. Activision may have been pushy, but I still blame Bungie for slopy work that made updating difficult. Or do you really think they did something they knew was going to anger people just to laugh about it, and maybe drive away customers?
If they had never made Destiny 2, I would have never played a Destiny game, didn't want a console then or now.
Please don't conflate defending and differing opinion, Bungie kind of sucks.
That's true. Remember that three year period between Destiny 1 and Destiny 2? It was a really painful time.
Destiny 2 is not a forever game, there will come a time when the entire game is shut down, I have been through that, starting in 2003. As long as you think you paid for the content, you are in for some disappointments, we only pay for the privilege to use said content so long as they choose to offer it. You might try GOG if you want forever games, I do.
You missed the part where I said I didn't have or want a console, no, I knew of the game but didn't want a console. I have trouble understanding this three-year wait, did Destiny not launch in 2014 and Destiny 2 in 2017? If they had released it on PC, I likely would have played it.
