Is this game worth getting back into?
I haven't played much in the past year. There's been a lot of controversy surrounding Destiny with content and posts getting deleted.

It can be to a degree. It will cost you a lot of time to invest into RNG, grinding activities, researching the meta, etc. It's pretty much a part time job, especially since the meta changes every couple months by a degree, and per season by a large degree. This season is probably the best to get into since it will be consistent for the next 7 months.

That said, if you're looking for a power space fantasy and are okay with the grind and ever changing meta, it's a solid choice.

Yes its totally worth it. The community Seraphs of the Lost is dedicated to helping others as much as possible. It takes a little time thats it. and time is reduced greatly with how much the community helps everyone.

Why ask us, how are we to know if you will enjoy it or not?

Non seasonal content has not been removed in a while.

Some post deserve no better than being removed, you can criticize and express your opinion without getting out of line, some either have not caught onto that or don't care.

Edit: Thanks for the Steam points LOL

If I suggest no one play WoW, what does that even mean, other than I don't want to play it. None of us can give anything but our options. What has changed recently to make this game significantly different than it was?

As to your response, who are we to determine what value other places on something, to you it may be a lot, to another it may not be.

But do as you please, let no one dictate what is fun for you, especially me.

I concur, i find this game very dull and boring now, each season is effectively the same with a little minor story, which if there was no timegating that prevents you from doing it all, you would find out that the story is at most 3hrs long and the price tag is insulting to say the least.

Yes

Almost 3k hours on the clock and used to love Destiny, BUT over the last year I have been playing less and less. I even got a preorder for the final shape in the first week it was available. I refunded a month or so ago with no plan on buying it. I am also near the point of just uninstalling.

Many reasons why but the core of it is that the game no longer respects my time.

The new zone is awful. Higher difficulty, without any more/better rewards.

Let's just think for a second. 3k Hours. How many other games could you reach that amount of time in before getting tired? I'd say D2 is in the upper echelons for how long it can be enjoyed, but no game is forever. Perhaps the game is less fun, because you have played it for what I assume is years?

I wonder if you actually read what I said or just stopped at the first line. Also, the majority of the playerbase is long term players because the new player experience is one of the worst out there.

Is the games less fun? Yes, but not due to time invested. Its due to the game itself slowly over time becoming less and less rewarding. Why play a game that does not even respect its own players? Why play a game from a developer that has made it perfectly clear over the last year they dont even care about their own product?

I ask myself everytime I play this game. I load into an activity and start thinking... What is the point? I genuinely haven't had fun playing this game since Lightfall released and I suffered through that. This current expansion definitely feels thrown together and I'm at the point where I don't care how the game ends. I doubt it ever will and if it does, I'm not willing to pay irl money to find out. If I have fear of missing out on something, there's a ton of YouTubers covering what's going on in the game daily, I don't even have to play.
If you have friends that still play, sure play while you're talking on Discord or something but other than that, progress will just be progress and nothing useful until the devs figure out what the heck they want to actually do with Destiny.
