Low Engram drops on Ritual Activities

I just finished 8 Mayhem games (4W, 4L) and 8 Iron Banner games (4W, 4L) and got a total of 5 Crucible Engrams on Mayhem and 1 Iron Banner Engram and 4 Crucible Engrams in Iron Banner, not even 1 per game, not even all the wins granted engrams, and I chose Mayhem because the games ended faster, making the grind easier (that's what I thought).
In Vanguard in 7 Activities (2 Nightfall Strikes and 5 Vanguard Ops) I got 4 engrams, again not even 1 per Strike, and I am yet to see a Nightfall Weapon drop. Instead, the game floods me with seasonal engrams, even engrams from past seasons, even if I have unlocked all weapons / patterns and all armor from all 4 seasons in the Lightfall year.
With so much guns to focus, armor to collect, even legacy gear, how are you supposed to do it with so little engram rewards?
I didn't try Gambit this season yet, and I don't even want to start with Trials, 5 engrams in 15 games I think 2 or 3 weeks ago when I last played it, Trials is the hardest grind because of the small amount of engrams rewarded. I am not talking about the rewards from rank ups, but from match ending rewards, not even victories award the engram every time like it should be.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Only thing for Trails is just winning with clanmates. It boosts reward drops. Everything else just hope for the best.
