Refunding silver?

Hey everyone, I hope this post complies with the rules. I recently purchased $30 worth of silver on Steam as a gift for my relative who plays this game. Unfortunately, the silver was directly added to my account, and I was expecting to receive a code or something transferable. Is there a way to gift the silver to my relative, or is there a process for a refund? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It seems Bungie doesn't have any actual customer service reps to talk to. The only help you can get is from a user help forum, or to put in some very specific requests forms. I put in a request for "missing silver" and told them what happened in the additional details bit. However, I was also told by users on the help forum that Bungie doesn't offer refunds for silver bought on Steam and that I should ask Steam. When I try to get a refund from Steam it says its not available and to ask Bungie. Its been less than a day, I just want my money back.

You ain't getting it back. Steam plasters you with warnings that microtransactions (like Silver) are non-refundable, full stop, and you clicked 'I agree'. Doesn't matter if you have a good reason. Steam has no way to verify if you spent the currency in-game or not, so they'll never, ever refund it.

And Bungie won't refund a Steam transaction, or much of any transaction, really.

You rushed into a purchase without doing research. It's your mistake. Next time, a simple Google search like "how to gift Silver in Destiny" will save you a lot of trouble.

Hi there!

Bungie does not offer refunds on in-game silver. If Steam has denied your request for a refund, then there is nothing else you can do.
