Also you can open the map and try to quick travel. To unstuck.
How its done: You moved too fast, this can be easily achieved by jumping towards NPC's and holding interact to quickly talk to them.
It is supposed to immediately boot you from the vendor screen, but this was formerly a bug fix where you could not leave the vendor screen if you so happened to be moved away from the vendor, say using the traveler-sized ball that can spawn in. Hope this helps.
Where you get a "snazzy new vendor window" where it only takes up half the screen. I genuinely thought they were trying a new format when I first saw it.
But, today is the first time I've ever had to force shutdown Destiny because of it, there was literally no way to accept or leave the vendor.
Had that once as well, couldn't fast travel, or go to another map. Had to restart the whole game. And it's kinda old. I hope they fix it someday.
