Armor Ornaments

This might be a stupid question but where do I equip armor ornaments? I left click the helmet and go down to appearance, and there 3 ornaments appear that I cannot equip, and the one I just bought (Ashravens Iron Hood) does not appear there. I already unlocked it from the inventory. Is it only for a specific helmet? Which one? this would be nice info to have in-game..

Ashraven's Iron Hood is an old non-universal ornament, by default it only goes on a selection of Iron Banner gear pieces, that's how those really old ornaments worked.

Now we have universal ornaments and synthweave, those old ornaments can be changed into universal ones so they can go on any gear piece for that slot. So for these re-released S2 and S3 Iron Banner ornaments, you need to go into the Customize Appearance menus and unlock it as universal with synthweave.
