Gunplay is F.I.R.E., Abilities Mid due to Cooldowns and other Design Decisions.
very repetitive, there is only the Gunplay with no Jumping Physics at all. Aim Assist cannot be deactivated with M+KB and on top of that some Perks, or even whole Weapons, have an innate Aim Assist. A very Gamepad-friendly, but in the end a very casual experience due to that skill ceiling issue.
you missed a lot of Lore and Story. Some very cool Seasons, like the Season of the Splicer, but there are too many Reskins of Tile Sets, reused for Seasons or other content, weapon reskins and more.
you wanna buy ALL of the content to enjoy this game it is meant to be. Otherwise you will not be able to play some content. It is playable with holes in your collection, but any DLC is vital to your Gear Collection in the end! And i think that is what the game is about for a lot of people, collecting stuff and enjoying all available content in their favorite game.
The gameplay is the best it's ever been, GREATLY improved since Y3, and better than any other FPS.
"How Repetitive and boring is the game?"
Depends on how much you care about being a completionist. You can either run something 5 times or 50 times, but crafting and bad-luck protection mechanics have made it much less repetitive.
"I stopped playing at Shadow Keep, how much have I missed?"
A LOT. It's essentially a completely different game, but in a good way.
"is it DLC abusive? Microtransactions abusive?"
Expensive? Maybe. Abusive? No. If you wait for sales, grind cosmetics and pinch pennies it can be very cheap, but if you like buying silver and DLCs on day one it may get pricey.
TL;DR: Just hop in. Might as well try it. Form you own opinion! The community can be very toxic so having others tell you whether it's "good" or not is subjective.
I quit it at shadow keep it being too repettive and boring.
One dlc is expensive, i imagine all, i think its time to say goodbye to destiny 2 forever.
