You have to buy the dlc again if you're starting on a new platform. The cross save will include gear that you already looted and have stashed and all of the things you already unlocked but you need to buy the dlc itself again to access that content.

1. Delete one of your (max 3) characters.
2. Start a new game from that free character slot.
3. :steamhappy:

I am pretty sure those (definitely the exotics) are also tied to the character not the account, so that creating a new character would still work. However, things like season rank are shared among characters

You don't need to buy any DLCs again, just start on another platform, enable crossave and select the new profile as the main one, and it will sync all others to this one. There will be no way to get anything back tho, but on the platform where you already have DLC - you won't need to buy them again

I think even if you dismantle everything in the vault and then all three characters, collections would still show what you had. Maybe remove Destiny 2 from your library and get it again, even that might now work, likely have to use another Steam account and buy everything again.

I have no clue why anyone would want to do that though.

Hi there!

To be crystal clear, Bungie does not offer services to delete character data or clear profiles of character data.

There is no way to reset an account to zero.

jetk4t provided a working workaround above in this thread for starting from scratch even if you only have a PC.

I just did it by getting a free copy of Destiny 2 from the Epic Games Store. Then from bungie's website, login to my Epic Games Store account, and set up cross save so that my new Epic Games Store Destiny 2 account overwrites my Steam account. I am now replaying Destiny 2 on Steam from Guardian Rank 1.

I haven't played Destiny 2 in years and felt like I wanted to start over from scratch. An experienced player however may be able to say if it is even worth the trouble or not of starting over from scratch.

I didn't have any DLC on my account, so I can't say how that works.
