Why is Destiny being DDOS'd?
Am I out of the loop? Is this some kind of organized attack to protest something?

You'd have to ask the ones doing it as anything else is speculation.

Well, I might have something to do with some angry coders who were making cheats for Destiny 2 being sued.

Sometimes groups do it to ransom companies or generally just hate/want to troll the game. Happened in Eve Online a couple years ago that stretched on for about a month before they solved it.

Because some individual or some organized group of people is mad that bungie took away the insanely broken gun glitch that plagued the game recently.

I am guessing it is guys that are butt hurt they can't be good without broken weapons, and ruining it for everyone

imagine thinking being good at destiny requires anything more than a functioning frontal lobe

the buugged gun crafting issue is a coincidence.

there is no ddos.

bungie cannot maintain their own infrastructure and it's someone elses fault.
whose fault?
noone knows , but not bungie.

I still think it more likely the people who made cheats for Destiny 2. They know the code of the game, they made cheats for it and they're not happy about being sued. This isn't something tossed together over night, this is too sophisticated and effective.

Honestly, at this point i don't even know anymore what it actually is or the reason being.. That it's either because of getting sued over cheats or being mad about broken glitches getting fixed or whatever.. Or that it even was a ddos after all instead of servers just dying, where as ddos is a excuse for it..

And yes, this isn't something that a random joe shmoo has done overnight.. This is something that's been in the making for a long time if done by actual hackers or whoever that is mad over cheat companies getting sued or whatever...

The only thing i want to see just like everybody else is that this ♥♥♥♥ get's sorted out and fixed sooner rather than later, and that the culprit behind these attacks get's sued straight into poverty + a proper sentence in prison...

We can only hope to see something from Bungie, because they're losing players as long as this ♥♥♥♥ continues to plague the game.. Doesn't help that Bungie is completely silent about it either, no communication from them.. No statement.. Nothing..

With that being said, i'm hopping off as i'm tired and it being 4 in the morning here..

Unlikely.

Bungie has been pretty transparent about their problems being their fault, even if it's due to being cheap or sloppy. They'd have pulled the DDOS excuse beforehand.

I understand that I could be wrong, it's just a feeling. Like if it was the servers, why sometimes it's great, no issues and other times it's awful. The good time even having more players showing in Steam. Then the question of who would want to, who has the best resources to do it. The idea that someone angry over glitch guns just doesn't hold up, but a company that sells cheats for games is another thing. They might have been waiting for the right time, the crafting thing would have been a great choice. If you want to do the most damage to a company, you turn their customers against them, mob mentality is ugly.

Hope you rest well.

Maybe they DDOS it hard while at the same time doing a reach around and trying to sell them the solution. That's what i would do, if i was evil. Basically like one of you said, a ransom, but with a helping hand while smiling.

Yvri Sep 25, 2023 @ 1:06am
Cheaters are crying bc Bungie sued them and won, that's pretty pathetic coming from the cheaters if you ask me, i'm glad Bungie won

Nobody has claimed authorship of the attacks. Anyone coming up with reasons for it are just conjecting.
