Dear DDOS attackers.
I know you are mad that the devs are fixing a bug, but, respectfully, go ♥♥♥♥ yourself. Just because you're mad at the devs doesn't mean the entire community needs to suffer.

I still think they may be tied to the group that Bungie is taking legal action against for selling cheat for Destiny 2. Maybe not, but it's something someone brought up that sounds plausible.

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their arm pits whoever they are!

Take a few seconds and make it comprehensible...

To add on top of this. To the people/person who had basically crippled the the D2 servers all because of a unintentional but fun glitch was resolved due to how it said glitch threatened the longevity of the game.

Please take a long needed break, step away from the computer, and look into a mirror and reflect. Being angry that a glitch was gone is well placed since it gave a bit of life to the game is a bit justifiable.

BUT to conduct the DDoS attack was UNNEEDED, NOT JUSTIFIED, and WAS EXCESSIVE. You have both not only ruin the fun for everyone in the D2 community for the past two days, but now Bungie may now has legal grounds to file a LAWSUIT against you for it once they figure out.

2 months ago they won a lawsuit against someone who has harassed a former Community Manager. I will expect that they will do the same to you as well.

Bungie gonna earn fat stacks once they find the DDOsers and putting money into marathon,i can see Bungie sweating on finding that person now, they need help from Take-Two.

There is no evidence of a DDoS.

I was having disconnects a week ago, it's simply spread to more people due to Bungie failing to maintain their code and trying quick-fixes to stop Franken-guns.

What are you smoking??? Bungie themselves confirmed it was a DDos attack.

Bold of you to assume someone with the time and vitriol to DDOS a game company is doing enough with their life to have money.

I mean, yeah, corporate sabotage is a thing, but let's be honest, that's probably not what's happening here, with the death threats and whatnot.

What farts are you breathing that you take everything a company says at face-value? Even the people inventing their own press releases for Bungie, imagining their decision-process, are not accepting the ridiculous face-value interpretation, and they're absolute shills.

Bungie claiming there is a DDoS is like a driver being pulled over for speeding and their defence is that they were rushing to a repair shop to get their brakes fixed. It's a solved problem in tech and the obvious follow-on questions go:

1. Why is their DDoS protection not working? (Either they don't know or don't have any)
2. If they don't have any, how do they know there is a DDoS?
3. If they can confirm there is a DDoS, why don't they have DDoS protection?

No, doesn't add up. The one alternative is that they rule out every explanation for disconnects except DDoS; diagnosis by negation. They can't have done that though, because there's simply too many variables to negate.

My own disconnects started the moment it was publicised how to craft Franken-guns. The disconnects only happened in areas where it was possible to shoot, never in a social hub. I suspect Bungie hashed together a quick-fix that kicked people from a session when conditions created by a Franken-gun were triggered, but never linked it to the actual owner of said weapon. I've not been able to play for a week.

I think Bungie have made the problem worse, by building on that stupid fix, and can't admit it so they're claiming a DDoS whilst trying to un-screw their screw-up.

Anyone reading this that has a clue about a WAN and DDOS can see, you don't.

It's no more right or wrong to believe what Bungie said than it is to think they're lying. Evidence, where is it? I've seen lots of evidence that Bungie does things I don't like, but where is the evidence that they outright lie to us?

I have been dropped while in orbit and the H.E.L.M., places you can't shoot. Your sample size of one doesn't carry a lot of weight.

This makes a lot of sense actually; was undoubtedly planned weeks ago at least

I believe Bungie's claims that it is a DDOS, given that we get server downtime and other issues and Bungie's statement on the topic is to blandly announce no, they won't be extending Iron Banana or double Nightfall rewards, screw you and your weekend.

They are perfectly happy to have outages and explain nothing, so why would they suddenly make something up this particular time?

I'm not engaging with the others and this is why: we are utterly entitled to speculate based on what we can see when Bungie's communication is so poor. They were late acknowledging disconnects at all and their in-game messages seemed designed to provoke annoyance, like they were written by the guy everyone wants to punch.

800+ employee company.
