They aren't too bad difficulty-wise if you're 20 or 15 levels below, just stun champs and take your time going through it. Utilize cover as best as you can and take out all the small enemies before working on champions
Lost Sectors vary greatly in difficulty (do NOT play master lost sectors, the slightly increased drop rate just isn't worth it), and some are just not fun to farm even if you're a veteran with strong gear. Other than that, it pays off to run strong universal builds like:
Titan:
- Synthoceps + Throwing Hammer destroys everything that isn't a champions (and even those on Legend difficulty) with constant healing
- Alternatively spam Storm grenades with Heart of Inmost light and Bomber mod class item
Warlock:
- Healing Rift spam + Well of Radiance + Fusion grenades already enable a lot of damage, but you can make that even stronger if you own exotics like Mantle of Battle Harmony or Starfire Protocol
-Void Warlock is super strong with Contraverse Hold if you have those
- Strand Warlock can also pull quite a lot of weight with threadlings and constant suspension.
Hunter:
- Void Build for invisibility and Explosions
- Assassins Cowl helmet for invis+healing on any subclass (all you need is a melee kill or finish)
- Solar just set up a fragment synergy and spam abilities for anything except champions (and you can use radiant buff to deal with barriers)
In general, there are a few exotics that are not hard to get like Wish Ender that are really strong and will go a long way to make runs easier for beginners. Learning spawns and safe positions also helps a lot. And I repeat, do not play Master Lost sectors, especially if you don't have the best gear and experience.
If you let us know what class you're on and what you're specifically struggling with we can probably help some more.
getting all the exotics is a grind tho so dont let it demotivate you
I took Lemonarque with me to the one on the moon but it wasn't working on the servitors shields.. I'm probably doing something extremely dumb, so for now I gave up, but yeah my light levels pretty bad, 1789? I only recently came back so I guess I'll work on that for now and worry about lost sectors maybe next season/expansion.
There are so many champion counters available these days that the artefact perks aren't even remotely a limiting factor. Those perks may be more consistent/reliable but here are always other ways you can counter those champions.
There also aren't any exotics that are required to clear any of the list sectors, if there were nobody would have been able to clear them in the first place.
There are a couple of factors here that are contributing to your lack of success:
At this point I'd be hesitant to give more specific build advice as depending on how much you play the situation ould be completely different by the time you're at a more appropriate power level. That said if you want to get into higher level content then your first priority should be to focus on getting your power level up, once you've done that I'd come back.and post again and I'm sure there will be plenty of people willing to help you adjust your builds for the content/meta at the time.
