can not say it better and I am one of those who likes to PvP. Its just not balanced.
You also literally can not prevent going in with 20 hours playtime randoms and get matched/smashed by the most ultra hardcore eSport-ready award winning team.

Will speak from my own experience.
A lot of people see pvp as the real endgame in destiny and they actually spend time, prepare and min/max their build to have the biggest advantage.
And then there's a vocal more casual majority of players who hop on for pinnacles and the good loot that's locked behind pvp.
And when these two groups meat in crucible, the outcome is determined right from the start.

Being a filthy casual I try to avoid pvp and occasionally go in for some loots and I can see the difference straight away.

Also Destiny will never have a balanced pvp due to all the crazy powers and guns that were originally created for pve.

Be a console player, have aim asist, be a titan, spam sheilds every time you get slightly damaged, shotgun everyone with lockon. Endgame of pvp pretty much. Got sick of it during guardian games, most unfun part of the game.

The only PvP activities I really enjoyed, were SRL, and Gambit as they weren't anywhere near as competitive as other activities, and there wasn't much risk in losing.

More than that, I find that most PvP activities simply aren't worth the stress, and toxicity. Why play against people, and come out of it feeling miserable, when you can work cooperatively as a team against the game itself in a dungeon, or any of the litany of PvE activities? I don't wanna come across as being out of touch or anything, but really. It ain't worth it in the long run.

Some people just don't like PvP and play the game for the PvE.

I feel like I'm not even playing the same game as everyone else, like mine runs very differently. Point blank shotties hardly take off shields (I'm mapped). Melees whiff CONSISTENTLY despite animation working out well (I'm double meleed and jumped over before my second melee comes out). I watch my nades do the wildest ♥♥♥♥ just to not work, tripmine at a straight wall points to the ground, coldsnaps and axions literally refuse to track to anyone (i left my toe in a vortex and now im beyond saving). Theres so many things that make this game feel like an alpha. yet i have to watch the other guy slide around walls and triple tap before I even get my gun raised. Other people have plans and execute it at a rapid pace. I can tryhard any game and accept that I'm trash but can get better. This game? It's been almost a decade, and what I can tell you is that I've only gotten worse at this pvp (I used to take it seriously, until I realized how forced the matches are over time). I have 0 confidence in every single step I take because I know it doesnt matter when the next guy I see has everything going for him. I wasnt that good at Halo, so maybe its these types of 'radar finder fps' games where the other guy already knows where I am and might just start reading my fortune too for 15$. Regardless, almost a decade later and I still hesitate to call any shotgun I use a shotgun in this game.

ikr why bungie keeps making catalysts that force you to go to pvp kill 50 or 100 guardians is stupid af i remember malfeasance the last part was an absolute kick in the balls for non pvp players how dafuc do they expect a non pvp player to do a full team wipe on gambit invasion like dafuc
it took me like +20 tries until i finally got lucky with a noob team all cuddle up and killed them all with arc super

Besides that we also have cheat sites that have free month for d2 hacks.. to make pvp so much more "enjoyable" for the rest of us.

I hate PvP beacause it sucks, in D1 I played almost exclusively PvP but here it's unbalanced as hell, matchmaking sucks and the rewards suck outside of Trials gear.
