Is the original story ever coming back?
I havent played Destiny 2 since the month it released. The story was always my favorite part of the game. Just the other month I decided to try and get back into the game and bought all the DLC up to lightfall (it had just released) only to find out that they "vaulted" the original campaign and started you decently higher leveled. I immediately got upset and decided my money was wasted and I didn't want to get back into the game anymore. I'm honestly just wondering if they might ever bring it back because it was genuinely my favorite part of the game however the few times I mention it I just get a bunch of current players telling me to "♥♥♥♥ off" because "they are tired of hearing people complain about it"

maybe after the final expansion next year they will start to bring back old content like the red war and the leviathan raids since they said they arent gonna do big yearly expansions anymore

I hope so. I really wanna get back into it, especially with all the hype around the upcoming DLC but I really can't bring myself to play the game without going through the base original content first.

No, they will probably not since year 1 story is not important and relevant to actual story we have right now. You would be better watching Byf and lore then playing story. The only good campaign was Witch Queen comparing to any other one. Also they will be removing power level all together since numbers are ridiculous

I've always hoped Bungie would make a legacy version of Destiny that was basically the story from 1 and the cut stuff from 2, but I'm guessing they think that wouldn't make them much money so instead they're following trends like making a Tarkov clone.

Probably not. If anything they're more likely to continue vaulting expansions.

I'd love for them to bring Red War and the other expansions back, I never got around to playing the first 2 expansions despite owning the,.

Imagine they brought back the original campaigns and added Legendary modes to them.

Just one DLC, all the original campaigns with legendary mode added,
1 to 3 players, that's a nice gaming weekend with 2 friends.
Maybe add some exclusive vintage (yet relevant to current content) weapons
to the stage chests as a bonus incentive.

Should not be a costly DLC imo, like 5 bucks at most (because of legendary mode).
For how badly bungie treats its paying customers, that'd make a bit of a peace offering.

That would be ideal, but knowing bungie they'd bring back the vaulted campaign and expansions separately and try charging £40 a pop for them.

And probably add Dungeon Keys to them for good measure.

It'd be great if they brought back the old activities, mainly so newer lights and anyone who never had a chance to try them, would be able to experience that portion of the game, and possibly earn some of the old content and reintroduce items into the loot-pool(s). would love to have the chance to play leviathan again.

I mean, they need to move old code and assets to new engine and just looking at the scale, yea it will cost just to pay the devs

If you've got 4 hours to spare, MyNameIsByf has a video that'll catch you up on the story up Shadowkeep, which is where they stopped removing non-seasonal stuff; the seasons themselves are intentionally limited-time only content, though.

Someone didn't watch the pre-Lightfall Vidoc stuff.

For what it's worth, they HAVE brought back the Leviathan, about half of the Mars patrol zone, and a good chunk of Titan for seasonal stuff, so it's possible that they're working through getting everything onto the current engine in a piecemeal fashion.

I've been told this a lot, bit watching a video on it isn't the same as playing it.

imagine buying the game to enjoy it yourself if you can just watch videos about it

Whilst destinations, characters and activities from the previous expansion may return (either permanently or as part of a seasonal rotation) there's practically no chance at this point that the campaigns themselves are returned.

They never said that.
