Can I change my in game name

go to bungie account on there website, go to your settings and you should have 1 name change token, not sure if its still available mind worth a look

you never been able to do it here.

you always had to go to the officla webpage where their support link is. which has all your account info that can be updated and changed. as well as show you what accounts are linked to that profile

as someone who has been playing since launch of the original client.. its not wrong..
they NEVER used steam api for any name change setup...

Destiny bungie name change

Navigate to the official Bungie website
Click on "My Account" in the upper right corner, next to the "Play Destiny 2" button
Players can sign in by clicking on the platform they play Destiny 2 on
Follow the instructions to log in and confirm by clicking "Sign in" in the new pop-up window
Where the "My Account" button was will now be an avatar, which players should click on
Then, click on the "Settings" button, found at the lower end of the menu
That will take players to the "About Me" section, where players should click on the box under "Display Name"
Players can now type a new Bungie Name to use and then hit the "Save" button in the pop-up message at the bottom of the screen

You could change your Steam name here which is what was previously displayed in-game but you've never been able to change your Bungie name anywhere other than though the website.

The game used to use your steam name as your display name, changing your steam name changed your display name in game. You're very confident for someone who is just plain wrong. People used to regularly change their names all the time before they switched to bungie names for steam users.

that didnt change your bungie id tag.... only your shown in game name.. which IS why they changed that since it was confusing idiots like yourself thinking it was the same thing. people only did the steam way to circumvent being reported for greifing after the fact and to abuse the name blocks bungie has built in that steam will not.

where?

they use to have it in the in game shop for silver back before the steam launch. they offered one time name change codes when witch came out.

The guy literally asked to change his in game display name, thats what this thread is about. Idk why youre being so cocky when saying you could ever change your display name was using bugnie.net, i never made the claim that was the same as your bungie id, you just assumed people meant that.

Pretty sure a lot here are confusing the game on Steam and the game when it initially launched over on Battle.net On Battle.net your Destiny 2 name WAS your Battle Tag name and could only be changed by purchasing a Battle Tag name change. Now it is tied to your Steam name.

No they removed the ability for steam names to work due to rules being broken. Now they use a battnet name change token 1 for free.
