what happened to the DoE playerbase?

just a few days ago when I last played D2, dares of eternity was swelling with traffic, but now it's a literal no man's land with no people queued at all, got pit solo just now because there was nobody at all to get matchmade with, and ofc I couldn't even get to the first wheel before going back to orbit because we all know what class of citizens solo players are. so why and how did the DoE playerbase completely die out over the past 2 or 3 days I was absent?

Are you maybe wearing some gear that popped you to a much lower light level? I know strikes used to put you on your own if you had a very low light level when launching into it.

There's a bug affecting the Crota boss encounter, which causes it to just simply not end. No rewards, etc.
I can see people being reluctant to play the playlist version if there's a chance they'll run into it.

I've ecountered that bug, but only once, and that was a week or two ago when I came back to this game for lightfall
