Where did regular strike playlists go?

Going to the strike playlist seems to just send me into a Nightfall every time, Is there a reason for this that I'm missing or something?

The Strike playlist has three options. The top one is regular strikes.

Those will includes some Battlegrounds from previous seasons/expansions (some of which can ALSO show up as Nightfalls), but the difficulty level is different if you get it as a strike.

I'm going on the top middle one, but light is capped and it has nightfall scoring and a timer, the regular strike playlist isn't supposed to be like that

It got changed when Lightfall launched. Bungie made the playlist slightly harder by capping your Light, but you also get more Vanguard reputation by getting a higher score.

I see, not a fan of that, what's the point in levelling light if its capped at +5? it's not harder, it just makes the grind for gear seem like wasted time, strike playlist was a casual playlist before this, nightfall strikes were for the challenge. They might as well remove the playlist, it just feels like a lazy version of nightfalls in it's current state.
