You get 3 chances per week. 1 per character and if its the featured raid you can farm it.
thats 'content' apparently.
Best bet is to go to a LFG finder and ask around for anyone having boss checkpoints, so that you can participate in boss farms. Then you can skip the rest of the raids' encounters.
i did 9 hours of oryx checkpoints last week for Touch, and it was so unfun its unreal- like I never want to go near this raid again thanks to that, its completely taken the fun out of it. And then i remember i have to do it again for the catalyst because ofc i do.
just tonight, ive spent 7.5 hours farming the legend lost sector on warlock, just to have gotten 5 out of the 6 boots im missing.
idk, just stupid that this is their excuse for 'content' after they removed all the actual content.
nightfalls are much the same, you do the exact same mission over and over during the week and each one gives you, at best, 8 legendary shards and thats literally all that drops from the end chest. (theres honestly no reason this shouldnt just be a different difficulty of the strike playlist instead of the same mission every time)
Mythoclast took me 19 runs, which seems about average for most raid exotics. Worst one for me was touch of malice at 31 runs.
Last Wish starts at 10% drop chance and increases to a cap of 50% over 30 clears.
Deep Stone Crypt increases to a cap of 100% though we don't know the base chance or the per clear increase, however we do know the increase is once per account not once per class. We also know that even when DSC is the weekly rotating raid and the exotic is farmable the drop increase still only applies for the first clear.
Aside from those two cases Bungie have given no confirmation on any other raids having any form of bad luck protection or on base drop rates Root of Nightmares having triumphs that increase the drop rate but again they haven't confirmed either the base rate it the per triumph increase.
For Vex Mythoclast specifically community calculations put it at a base drop rate of around 5%.
So far AFAIK those only apply to Root of Nightmares, and the dungeon Duality (for Heartshadow sword).
For Vex it doesnt, for any other it doesnt. For RoN you have challenges that raise the drop rate. Get ready for either a drop in an early clear, or at 50-70 clears.
