Are you sure that you linked the steam account to the bungie account that you originally created?
Restart as in my progress was wiped out.
When I fired up the game it said my steam name was ToothlessRaider and my bungie name was now ToothlessRaider#(4 random digits) I am sure I linked it because I only have this one steam account and no other account.
Ill check my account and see the progress, not too worried, I wasnt like super high level, and I just got a 4k 144hz monitor, so I can enjoy it in 4k now
(also, does MSi Afterburner not work in Destiny 2?
14.5 hrs on record
last played on Apr 11
And I had like 15 more hours on battlenet before the merger. So not the end of the world, a few gaming sessions and Ill be back where I was. Just wanted to know why the wipe and reset.

The game doesn't support most overlays like Afterburner
I had 3 toons all at 1600 GS. All start at beginning of the story, like when I first played. I last recall being on a planet with alot of grinding, but maybe I have to reedo the beginner area due to reinstalling.
TY for the link. I didnt really lose anything of importance, so I wont stress over it.
You're essentially playing Destiny 3 now, Warmind, CoO, Red War, Forsaken are all inaccessible now, it sucks because I've just came back to this.
Enjoy the vastly inferior new light experience as compared to 2 years ago.
So basically any planet and any phase of the Destiny 2 lifecycle lol!
lol yeah
Well I never got far into the game, life got in the way of gaming back then, so I dont have much to go off us. I just got a 4k 144hz monitor and started downloading all the best looking games I own on steam to see the difference. So far the story is good, since I dont remember it.
?
What do you mean?
1
: to bend especially repeatedly
2
a
: to move muscles so as to cause flexion of (a joint)
b
: to move or tense (a muscle) by contraction
1
: BEND
2
informal
a
: to talk in a boastful or aggressive way
"Bronze" is one of the most straightforward new tracks: a boastful and insidiously dark song that sees him flexing about his many wins.
Maybe I am getting old, but never heard of "flex" being used as a word to replace "bragging" But I wasnt doing either. Merely saying that my progress getting wiped allows me to replay again, I was just asking if there was something I missed that caused the wipe.
Weird new modern slang, but ok
So after the steam transfer, a lot of stuff was "vaulted" (there are multiple posts about that, or look up "Destiny Content Vault") This is no longer true going forward for full DLC (basically Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, Witch Queen, and now Lightfall) however the various dungeons/exotic missions are going to be rotated in and out in an upcoming season
So you haven't lost campaign progress, it just doesn't exist anymore (specifically the Red War campaign and the Forsaken expansion)
1600 light is the base light level now (standard playlist activities lock you to 1600 light now)
As for the random numbers next to your name, yeah it's just a thing bungie does (not unlike how they worked on the blizznet launcher)
It sounds like you're talking about Seasonal progress.
Yes, that resets every season. This isn't a C-RPG. It's a Game-as-a-Service that uses a Seasonal model. It resets every three months.
Your Light Level doesn't reset. Nor does your gear (nor does quest progression), but every Season (just about) the (light level) cap is a little bit higher, and newer gear is just a tiny bit better.
This isn't a game with a beginning, middle and an end. It's a hamster wheel. If you enjoy the process of running on the wheel, then it's a pretty good game.
If you don't enjoy the process of running on the wheel, or the fact that you're standing on quicksand, then this is NOT a game I'd suggest playing. Progression is transitory, that's the nature of this game. There is no destination, rather it's the journey that's the point.
TY for the detailed information
