Pinnacle Gear 1800+ ?

Hi All, my gear is just over the 1800 mark, before seasonal artefact. popped open my first 4 pinnacle gears this week and theyre all 1800. did i misunderstand the pinnacle gear system? i thought pinnacle can take me over 1800... just poor rng or something else?

Are you sure it was pinnacles?

Pinnacle does increase your gear level above 1800 but the drops are based on your average PL of all your gear slots.

If your average is 1800 then all pinnacle drops will be 1802 and they wont drop at 1803 until your average increases to 1801.

Google destiny recipes and use the power progress tab to get a better understanding on what your power level is and which rewards to go for.

Pinnacle drops give less power after 1800 but are the only way to reach 1810 power gear

Once you get into the pinnacle stuff it's a grind. Almost every upgrade is only an increase of 1 power level. Sometimes I've gotten a bump of 4 - 6 power levels but those are far more rare. It's just a bit grindy but also easy to do if you're just enjoying playing the game. I'm currently 1822 and don't raid at all.

odd ok, yeah my average gear level is 1800, all but 2 pieces are 1800 with one 1801 and one 1802.

were defo pinnacle, was some of the weekly things that pop up on the map, play 3 crucibles, do 3 strikes, Neptune Rep etc that say that give pinnacle gear.... no idea why they were all 1800 pieces.
