I can garuntee you I have and still do. The Stasis SMG?? Yes, I still do, and Vanguards is all I do.
If rewards are more engaging vs the bumped up difficulties, people will stay.
And regular Strikes are no more difficult than they were prior to Lightfall. Do they need an increase in rewards? Sure, let them drop a Vanguard item on every completion, but as one of the easiest activities, it shouldn't shower you with rewards.
Oh yeah I just checked, it is Prolonged Engagement ... my bad. Sorry user DakotaThrice.
It's the orange color SMG.
Yeah regular Strikes are no more difficult, but people still leaving it. Especially when they get the Previous Season Seraph Strikes. They bail as fast as they loaded in.
Yes I don't say shower us with Rewards, but damn, Let Vanguards have their own Exotics or something. Previous Season Weapons can be worked into drop lists for Rewards aswell instead of Vaulting.
If you have a chance to get some valuable loot at the end, why bother running a slog of a strike instead of a more fun and/or less time consuming one? The cost vs benefit scale is simply structurally unbalanced with the current playlist. (Even the 'run x amount of strikes to get a pinnacle' is now effed up.)
Make strikes fun to play again, I'd say.
I prefer the strikes the way they are, but having said that I acknowledge the people who don't. Many people do them as a matter of course and just want to get them done. Some like to rush through to show how great they are!!!! Whatever, people like different things and just raising the bar has (rightly) annoyed some people.
I would really love to see the metrics of this season's strike compleations. It's obvious, that the goal to make strikes harder and more time consuming, was to increase the engagement stats. And I asume it didn't develop in the way Bungie expected it to.
Because you can't measure 'fun' numerically, it's common to look at the time a player engages with a game activity and misinterpret it as time they enjoyed. But this fallacy doesn't take into account that players will always tend to optimize their time spend in the game.
And it emerges that the strategy, that feels best, is to only play the strikes that aren't as time consuming. This should be a striking red flag for Bungie, that the cost / benefit balance of the playlist, is not enjoyable enough to spend time with.
I have done the Nightfall about 4 times now and people have quit every time, if you wipe idiots leave, I nearly did last night, but just camped out in an area I was away from it and picked people off with a scout, was quite good fun actually!
