The Corrupted Strike is sooooooo fun

As Someone who has been getting into destiny a lot more I find myself doing exotic quests from the archive. Currently I am doing a quest for the drifter and have to do a mission called corrupted strike. The mission is extremely tedious and boring if you die a lot. I did die a few times but I was going solo. I got to the last fight and I am filled with hatred and pure agony. The final boss literally eats any ult I throw at him and only has 3 moves: Block, shoot, boop off the map. The booping part did not become as annoying when realizing he misses 99% of his boops if you move. But the part that has me hella mad is he takes almost no damage. The recommended power is 1600 and I am currently 1775 and I still struggle. I also play hunter and the fact this boss can completely negate your entire super with one shield block is not great either. He takes little to no damage from solar or void nades. Even ults too, I've used moebius quiver directly on his fat face and it did maybe 1/6th of his total hp (Probably 5,000,000). This boss is so annoyingly tanky it is ridiculous. He even spawns in minions once 1/3rd of his health gone cause now you deal with acolyte eyes that aimbot you and now minions that can straight up give the boss invincibility. Fortunately these creatures go down way easier than the boss. But even so I feel like this boss is way too tanky and it is dumb. My main dps weapon I use to shred bosses is the Grand Overture which puts in hella work but here one shot from the slug rounds only do around 4k without the catalyst. I could not get to the micro-missiles since I only had 4 shots for the gun because this boss also never drops any ammo. I hate this boss and think this should honestly just be a nightfall mission at this point. 1600 power recommended my ass.

Btw I know their are better options when it comes to dps phase of any boss and machine guns are really being used to ad clear in current pve meta but GO is my best dps weapon for the moment.

it shouldnt be like that in the strike, and even if you are one blade barrage gets the boss into next immunity phase instantly. were you doing the nightfall? and if so what difficulty

He's talking about a special version of the Corrupted strike for the Malfeasence quest. It's pretty hard, yeah. And as far as I remember it's comparable in difficulty to the Nightfall strike. I don't know, try to find the team on the Bungie's LFG site.

The mission can be quite difficult for a relatively new player, you don't have a pl advantage either, I think you're on the same lvl as the enemys, that's why the low damage numbers with your MG, it's best to ask someone for help, or you try it a bit on your own, if you have a little more experience in destiny then it's not that difficult, i also believe that there is a safe point at the end with the boss, there are several rocks where you can hide.

Oh that quest....just stand behind the mountain and shoot the Witches when they Spawn in. Or just don't be on the same island he is.

Solar Fusion Grenade with Starfire Exotic and Well of Radiance helped me on this quest.

I haven't finished this either. I think it's way harder than the Nightfall version of the strike.

The blight special grenade launcher (exotic) works well for this mission.

Its a fairly difficult quest, i've completed it on my hunter once before. I typically use it to farm thrall on the staircase, if anybody didn't know that was an option. Worked for the pinnacles back before Beyond Light.
