Agreed, it's depressing to see these prices slowly go up. I left exactly 10 quid in my paypal to buy the season pass and got really frustrated when I saw it go up.

Its wrong entirely, but the worst part is that, since it's 1200, You have to spend 10$ for 1000+100 bonus.. You are then incentivized to spend 5$ to buy it.. but wait.. now you have 300 silver left than you mentally are wanting to spend.. you need to buy more.. it's just a predatory tactic.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. It was 100% done on purpose to essentially lure people in to spending more and more money.

Yeah I honestly don't understand how they're getting away with this for so long. Also there is the fact that they occasionally vault content people paid for. Bungie has truly been ruined.

All modern content: Lightfall + annual pass, the bundle with Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and Witch Queen, and the Forsaken/30th Anniversary bundle, all costs about $190USD without a sale.
I came back to the game with Beyond Light and it's never cost me more than roughly $85USD per year for all of D2's content.
Sure that's steep, but I get what I consider to be good value in playtime each year with that money.

But making content inaccessible to potentially bring it back in the future is literally by definition "vaulting content".

Weirdly, game devs usually do this when they aren't making enough money. Destiny Is a big game so It's definitely a strange decision to make. Maybe the lack of players recently has forced them to jack up the prices to milk the existing playerbase? It's the same tactics that other games use when they go free to play - No pay to win at first but then If the game starts dying off then the higher ups usually push for more pay to win in the game to milk any existing players that are left still playing. It would make sense tbh, I haven't given them money since beyond light released. I want to get back into the game but It just seems to be going downhill more and more every time I look into it again.

Arguably best case scenario is that if I were to spend $15 for the silver with 300 left over. that'd cover the next two seasons on just getting 1000+100.

Granted I also already had 300 silver just sitting around so I was only going to spend to get the 1000+100 anyway.

Fair enough, I interpreted what they said to mean "$400 at a time" rather than as a cumulative cost.
I also presumed getting the annual passes vs. individual seasons.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to defend it. I hate vaulting and seasonal story content.
I under why vaulting had to happen, but I don't have to like it.
I hate that my friend doesn't know who Sloane is or why he should care.
I also hate that no new player will get to hear Saint XIV shouting "You ARE my people" to Misraaks in Season of the Splicer.

My main point was that Bungie is somewhat improving the situation.
Expansion content is no longer going to be removed, and they've announced that they're going to make every past cutscene available on their official youtube page.
I'd ideally like to just see the entire game playable again at some point, but I appreciate that they're not making it worse anymore.

"Lack of players" the playercount is the highest it's been in a while. Bungo just wants to incentivize people to buy multiple seasons at a time.
