I remember seeing some video that showcased how breaking Statis crystals would trigger som mods, I believe Firepower and Ashes to Assests. The story was that breaking statis crystals would trigger these mods.
Is this actually still so? I feel I am not getting as many orbs as running those mods would suggest.

I just tried to test it and it doesn't work by my guess. I also really can't find the original video anymore, so maybe that one got deleted too due to being wrong i guess.

As far as mods go, stasis crystals have the type of whatever created them. If you use a grenade to make a crystal and shatter that crystal with a weapon, the shatter kills will count as grenades. If you make stasis crystals with a bow and then break those crystals with a grenade, the shatter kills count as bow kills. Sometimes this is inconsistent as the final blow can get stolen by another effect, but in a vacuum that's how it's supposed to work.

That IS how stasis works, but it is majorly bugged. The 6 types of crystal in the game (grenade, melee, class ability, super, kinetic, heavy) are all indistingiushable, but will deal the appropriate damage based on what created them... in theory. The damage type can get "stolen" by 2 main things. First is whisper of fissures. This causes stasis crystal explosions to explode twice, the second explosion dealing an additional 100% explosion damage vs normal enemies and 7% explosion damage vs majors and bosses. The second explosion does not deal typed damage, and therefore will not trigger effects, and can "steal" kills from the main explosion. The other problem is shatterdive and cryoclasm. I'm more hazy on the details, but the basic problem is it will also "steal" the damage type, dealing some sort of "subclass" or "typeless" damage, though not all the time, basically making it very inconsistent.
