Most Hated Champion Type?
I want to see what everyone's most hated Champion Type in General is (Unstoppable, Overload or Barrier) and I also want to see what everyone's specific most hated Champion is (So like, a Scorn Overload Chieftain or some other specific champion).

I hate overload fallen. Their teleportation is absurdly obnoxious and I find their health regen harder to deal with than barrier. Champions aren't as bad to deal with as much anymore but when I was newer to hard content, overload champs tilted me so badly lol

Hell, I'm pretty far into the game and Overloads are still annoying, just cause of their ability to teleport. Fallen and Scorn Overloads are still my most hated champions, followed by Barrier Servitors, just cause being invuln plus making everything nearby invuln is the stupidest combination on earth (That and they can make other Overload Captains invuln)

Fallen champs are the worst in general. Barrier Servitors in particular are a scourge; name another enemy that can shield itself behind cover while shielding multiple of its allies through cover, and AB rounds don't even work on the shielded ads. Even Overload Captains aren't as annoying in comparison, especially now that abilities/weapon perks can stun them now.

I feel like Anti-Barrier should be able to counter Servitor's Invlun, considering it counters Hobgoblins invuln.

Its even worse when said anti-barrier servitor is protecting an overload captain while behind cover.

Bariers are usualy easy to ovepowered so you dont even need a barier mode most of the time

Overloads are easy to stun they have a decent crit spots

Unstopables oh boy. You can shot all your ammo and you still cant be sure if it is ever gona be stunned. You cant overpower before stunning because damage reduction is insane. They are the worst

Champs suck and shouldn't be in the game to begin with. I said this the day they were implemented and I'll keep saying it.

People cry on and on about "no new enemy types" in the game, I think the REMOVAL of champions would be terrible. Like it or not, they add another level to certain content and add a light restriction on your loadout. If you think about old nightfalls and nightfalls now, it goes from "this strike but hard" to "this strike but hard and specialty enemies".

After the Lightfall champion changes, it requires little effort to counter every kind of them, but you still have to put that effort it. Said effort adds to the experience.

All of them suck.

Unstops are the easiest as they are predictable and just walk straight towards you, if you know where they spawn you can nuke them right away. They punish out-of-position players only. Worth noting that Unstop ogres are in a league all their own, the damage output is INSANE. One of these suckers on GM difficulty can turn a walk in the park into a Resident Evil chase sequence.

Barriers range wildly, Barrier Vex and Cabal are basically an afterthought but Barrier Fallen can be a nightmare to deal with in GM and Master content. I did some lost sectors at 35 light under, and a Barrier Servitor surrounded by 3 sniper vandals had to be handled more delicately than brain surgery. They themselves are never an issue, it's just the adds around them. They are the least aggressive of the lot.

Overloads are only a problem if they blink a lot, which is only really an issue in the Moon lost sectors and certain areas. Otherwise just Tractor Cannon them into oblivion. They are a lot more defensive than aggressive, which makes them easy to stunlock and pick off.

To conclude, my personal difficulty ranking from least to most difficult is:
Barrier
Unstops
Overloads

Champions are just a bad, outdated gameplay mechanic now, but ultimately overloads are the worst. They definitely feel like they have the most uptime on their "full aggro" mode and the mods to disabled them are often the most spotty and inconsistent. Overload SMG used to be absolutely terrible and overload hand cannons just feels absolutely terrible too.

If running uncapped fps and underlevel, overload fallen champs. If not barrier with extra health.

While I wouldn't remove champions, I don't like the concept nor their addition to the game. The loadout restrictions are the biggest problem with them; granted, the 3.0 stunning effects have eased up the restrictions. I don't like weapon types that I'm not a big fan of being shoved down my throat, nor weapons types I DO like feeling useless in Champion-heavy activities. They're counter-intuitive to Bungie's "Build-Crafting" push since Light 3.0 came out, or even before that.

Champions aren't difficult. They're annoying, or tedious. Every champion is essentially a buffed up rank-and-file combatant, with an over-simplistic mechanic to them; Stun, Damage, Kill, and repeat. They aren't intense to the same degree as Light-bearing Hive or Tormentors. Or Stasis Captains if you ever see them. A roadblock is all champions happen to be. Or at least, thats my opinion.

Overload Captains and Barrier Servitors. Overloads are just annoying in general, but Barrier Servitors? They don't even work right half the time.

Barrier Servitors. Hands down.
Bagagel [IanTay] Sep 9, 2023 @ 6:14pm
Ya my opinion is Barrier Servitors are the worse followed by Scorn Overload Chieftains. Just cause they can throw down any totem while normal Chieftains have an element linked to them.
