A swing and a miss.
Not about to big for muh consoles. Beyond Light would have actually been Destiny 3 if they stayed with Activision, they made large changes to the engine that the old content would not run properly on. "Destiny 2 is too large to efficiently update and maintain." is not about our storage, it was about not being able to get everything running right for release of Beyond Light, they were three months late releasing as it was. It helps to have been around and reading what they said as things happened and not some PR thing tossed online.
*sigh* It wasn't just because of file size, it was also because of backend issues. The game was too large to maintain, something like EoW or SoS is not worth maintaining when very, very few players ever touched them.
The linked Bungie news tab was released months before the DCV came into effect. They had nothing to lie about, this was exactly what happened. File sizes AND backend have both improved, with the current total content amount being larger than it was in Y3.
Raids on rotator would be lame, it's much more likely we will start getting back old D2 raids after all the D1 ones get remade.
I, am not salty about the vaulting. I understood at the time what the choices were and preferred the choice they made over the alternative.
I mean, if your game was built upon the idea that it would be dumped after 3 years, whether or not you admit that the fact is still there. Admitting it instills confidence as honesty is a lot more than other game companies can offer.
Don't get me wrong, I would like for them to just put every raid back in the game. My thinking of a rotator was more from my doubts that Bungie would actually have 15 active raids for us to choose from at the same time.
