needing to get 240 spoils for a raid exotic is absurd

i do get that raid exotics are suposed to be super rare but still it should not cost 960 spoils in total not even taking into consideration the exotic cyphers and other materials.

its not that bad if you are actively doing raids every week

or can join a group that runs the first encounter of RoN over and over for ez spoil farming

but i guess now since Crota is the new raid people will start doing one of those encounters for spoil farming

There's some chests you can loot in raids solo. You can get 15 per week just from opening the first "hidden" chest in Vow of the Disciple.

I mean, you can farm spoils. 240 ain't too bad if you raid often. VoG gives 20 spoils and takes roundabout 30-40 mins with a decent team, same with KF, although that is a longer raid. Run those on all 3 characters and get 120 spoils a week.

Getting a guaranteed raid exotic every 2 weeks of raiding is something that pre-BL D2 players would give anything for.

It's not really viable. There is no local map, the map is quite large, finding the stuff to shoot to open the chests that is at x location that you also have to find, it's just way too much work. You would have to be actually insane to do this solo and then on 3 characters each week. Way too much work. I cleared the first encounter stuff solo, can find a few of the things to shoot, but it just takes way too much time.
Rather wait for it to become world drops.

If you have an eager edge sword, it takes 15 minutes at most. Burst DPS for Savathun at the start, then sparrow all the way across the entire map and use an eager edge sword to stay mobile and break them. They always spawn in the same spots.

instead of farming chests once in a week just learn some raids you can find a decent raiding groups from the app. You can do Last wish once in a week or you can constantly farm Kings Fall since it allways drops a decent amount of spoils each run which this 2 raids one of the easiet ones but tbh hardest ones to teach.

Sounds like you don't actually know how it works. You only need to clear the very first part, then you can either kill the first wave of abominations or just die once or twice while shooting the things. The things also never move, so you learn their locations once, then you can freely do it as many times as you want. You can just look up a guide for them, or even look around yourself; they have an indicator when you are anywhere close to them, and are barely hidden. A realtime video of the method I double checked is less than three minutes long.

you only need to kill the the savathun clone at the start. after that, you just need to shoot the 3 crystals and they are always in the exact same spots, so once you know their locations, you can do it on one character in less than 5 minutes.

you can ignore the debuff that eventually causes you to die after 10 stacks as there is no wipe mechanic and when you respawn you will do so basically right where you died.

just to clarify im fine with you needing to play some raids to get the exotics i just mean the grind is super boring and a raid freqently too right now the best way to grind spoils is the first encounter in ron and unless you get lucky on lfg and get a speedrunner in your fireteam its going to take like 4 hours of farming the same encounter over and over again and its so mind numbing i play video games to have fun not do the exact same thing the exact same way over and over and over again for hours on end
