There is no "best class" in D2, or at least not after the S17-S19 titan dominance was rectified, so don't feel pressured to swap. Solar specifically may be better on warlock and titan as of now, but the sandbox is ever-shifting. Void hunter is 10x better than void titan and warlock.
Solar Hunter is likely the least powerful of the three, but that doesn't exactly mean its bad. Solar as a subclass is really strong, and Hunters have a lot of Melee builds for both PvE & PvP. As @Kylito said, Assassin's Cowl & Young Ahamkara's Spine are really strong exotics; former for PvE, latter for PvP.
Which is why you use Assassin's Cowl or YAS??? Debatably has more survivability than Solar Warlock and mayyyybe Solar Titan. Don't forget that fragments are the same across them all, so builds can be generally the same.
Keep hide in the shadow aint fun,Warlock can summon heal rift,Titan can summon healing flame when the hammer hit enemy, stay in fire when deal with the enemy, its not like assassin cowl provide over heal even you break the invis.
Get knife kill, go invis, pick up firesprite, get restoration, dodge to get knives back, repeat.
You could even put on the fragment where solar kills extend restoration, and then get up to 12s of restoration; throw on Monte Carlo to get knives back in a pinch, a wave frame GL, and any solar heavy, then enjoy never dying again.
Titan flame heal and Warlock healing rift are more fun and less effort.
You want extreme survivabilty as a hunter then i suggest using gyrfalcon with collective obligation. Let me tell how this work, every volatitle kill makes you invisible as a void subclass and every time you get out of invis gyrfalcon gives you fresh volatile rounds. You also get volatile rounds from grenade kills which that also makes you invis. So why Collective obligation, you see if you have devour and if you get a kill or pick another orb you dont ever need to reload this weapon. And if you are out of skills and you are in a pinch open your catalyst ability to weaken and kill enemys so you can gain another free invisiblity and refreshed volatile rounds . This interactions is good but kind a over kill and it hardly works on master dif so i dont usualy use this.
You want extreme dps then i suggest star eater scales and auto loading graned launcher rocket launcher or basicly anything you can be creative im using parasite right at max stacks its 1m burst damage. Some bosses still eats 500k to 900k from morbeus quilver if it launched correctly.
And since void is mainly all about going invisible and getting devour you need to make tons of orbs.
No self-respecting warlock on solar is using heal rift, phoenix dive is far better. Hunter requires more effort I guess, but is better in some ways as you have access to restoration as well as invis, and burst damage super options.
I aint give a flying F about "Self respecting warlock" ,my health goes low i find a place to summon rift, specially on lost sector when i need to sustain damage and healing my own at the same time.
Hunters needs the most effort but unlike warlock or titans they can enter crowd of enemys with out fear and get out alive which is preaty badass tbh i know some warlocks and titans can also do this but they will get overwhelmed in the end
