The reason year one content was removed has nothing to do with live service.
Seasons are called seasons for a reason; this is how seasonal content works.
As I understand it, the power level thing is going to be removed.
PvP in this game is not meant to be like CoD etc., it can't be. Taking it serious, is the path to frustration.
I think the content got much better. Lightfall is not as good as Witch Queen, however if you take everything into account it's still better than year one in my opinion.
Yes, it could be much better, but it has gotten better after Activision.
Another example of how a crowded product can actually be pretty bad which makes the crowd look stupid.
Moving on ....
Constructive criticism is fine (although do bear in mind, Bungie will not see any of your feedback on this forum. If you want your feedback read, then go post in the Feedback forum on Bungie’s own site).
But criticisms and discussions thereof aside; all games are finite abstractions. All games eventually become dull, no matter how well (or not well) made they may be.
There is quite a bit of inherent repetition built into the basic model (of Destiny 2). The game is an ARPG (or a looter-shooter) it is specifically a game type that appeals to people with "Hunter-mind". At least some repetition is actually desirable for both the audience and the type of game. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunter_versus_farmer_hypothesis )
Yes, Destiny 2 is an aging game. Yes, the game does seem to be becoming more formulaic as time goes on. and no, that isn't a good thing.
But all that aside, you do appear to have an unrealized bias. Your post reads as if you have grown tired of the game. It’s important to understand that even if the game were prefect, you personally would still grow tired of it eventually.
If you do wish Bungie to see your feedback then I suggest you post here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Topics?pNumber=0&tg=Destiny2%20FeedbackD2&tSort=0&tType=0&d=2&lang=en%3Freload%3Dtrue
What makes d2 a crowded product?
Mm, I'll offer a counter point: I got tired of Warframe, (specifically of the mindless, repetitive grind) and yet I've been playing Destiny 2 since Shadowkeep, and I still have fun with it. The entirety of Year Five (Witch Queen) was probably the best the game has ever been. Year Six (Lightfall) is indeed weaker than Witch Queen, but it's still pretty good.
So my experience has been pretty much the opposite of yours. Are you suggesting that my experience has less validity than yours?
I hope the comparative point Im trying to illustrate is apparent.
(I don't have much to say about Monster Hunter, I haven't played it, and my understanding of it is that it's an MMORPG, so (to the limited degree I understand it) I don't consider it directly applicable).
