Hi everyone, do I need Beyond light to unlock fragments?

Beyond Light is only needed for the Stasis subclass, and Stasis fragments. Light subclass fragments are available on FTP, no DLC needed.

As others said. Stasis and Strand are locked to their dlc. To acces their fragment you need said expansions. Void, Solar, and Arc are free. To get their fragment just go to Ikora. Just be careful each fragment costs a boatload of glimmer and you won't be able to buy all at once so pick and choose carefully.

what about aspects, do I need beyond light?

Void, Arc and Solar are 'Light' Classes and all fragments, aspects grenades and the like are bought from Ikora in the tower. Will cost a LOT of glimmer (about 300k per class iirc.)

Stasis is a 'Darkness' class and is locked to beyond Light dlc and takes about two months to unlock everything. Strand is another 'darkness' class and is locked to the latest dlc - Lightfall, and you unlock strand stuff after you finish the campaign by collecting a currency - doesn't take long.

When you've finished the introductory mission (New Light: A Guardian Rises!), you'll be sent to the Tower. Be sure to talk to Ikora Ray (the lead Warlock of the Vanguard), she'll teach you about Aspects and Fragments (for Arc, Solar and Void).
