The catalyst isn't unlocked by completing the quest, its unlocked by defeating targets with DMT.

Did you not manage to complete the legend in the timeframe?

Completed Normal: no rifle to decrypt
Completed Legend: no catalyst

legend doesnt drop pattern.do normal first and later legend for catalyst.
x2 or x3 normal for other intrinsic perks

my friend did not get the drop on legend then when we went to the enclave he already had it. my other friend claims its because he bought it from xur one time

You shouldn't immediately leave the activity after taking dmt from the corpse,wait until game says that you completed the mission.It's weird but it is how it is.

Did, but yet nothing. I got the prompt that I claimed the gun, the spiked thing---forget its name---and other loot; nothing. Couldn't be because of a full inventory since I had tons of open Kinetic slots. Checked postal bot, nothing; checked enclave, nothing. I'm going to rerun it today---don't know why I have to, to see what the hell happens.

you must be missing something,i doing normal run and getting red border weapon / DMT trail just fine.

Okay, after running BOTH versions a SECOND time, I got the DMT and multiple Red Border weapons.

Don't know why I had to do it TWICE, but oh well, Bungie will be Bungie...
