Nightfall strike score glitch?

a guy on my fireteam got over 500k points in a hero 1770 nightfall

how is that possible? is there a new glitch?

Vanguard medals got added, but I doubt it was enough to get 500K score. I think during GG good scores were still <300K. Perhaps cheating? But idk why a cheater would do a hero NF...

if u stack up bounties and pop to refill super, you can go pretty crazy, especially in early season levels.

xp gains do not effect nf score

yep definetely cheating
i guess he is doing it to get pinnacle with 1 run. only reason i can come up with about score cheating in hero nf
also in hero you barely get the 200k needed if you kill everything with headshots anyway in 1 run 500k is so over the limit + what you 2 got also on top of that 520k

I had this score glitch myself yesterday, even mroe than once. I have zero clue what triggers it but it happened on all three of my hero nightfall runs and the score in the scoreboard was roughly 4x my actual score at the top of the screen/bottom right during the strike (which is the one that was counted for pinnacle). So it is indeed a purely visual glitch, nothing more.

This is a bug. My fireteam total score was 102k but each of us had over 300-500k score. Later on the game crashed and it asked me to verify the game files.

I've been seeing this all day in the normal strike playlist. One player will randomly finish with 300k+ individual score when the others are only 20k with similar kill counts.

I'm almost certain it's just a visual glitch

And with how badly hammered the servers have gotten that could also be part of why the scores are bugging out like that.

its a bug but i believe its unintentional friend of mine had the same thing happen to him last week

It's a bug and has been around for at least 2 weeks. From before the Crafting bug.
