No new Darkness Subclass

I was wondering where the new subclass was in the Showcase but it looks like we're not getting one, just the 3 new light supers that were shown (a solar one for Warlock, an arc one for Hunter, and void axes for Titans)

its outdated showcase the main producer(joe blackburn) said it was he explained and what is planned he recorded what was going on twitter but you can just look up a video of it on youtube most likely

There was a two-year gap between stasis and strand
Though who knows Bungie's real plans

The preorder page for final shape is up and it mentions the new light supers, but no word of a new subclass. Seems confirmed it's canned for at least another year

Yeah I saw that too, I guess Joe Blackburn or some other high-up at Bungie will announce its delayed after everyone is sufficiently hyped up for FS.

Strand was not delayed.

That was made up by a content creator who's whole popularity rides on Twitter engagement.

He basically made a false information tweet about how he believes Strand was delayed, his evidence you might ask?

The Symbol for Warlock's Strand super is a Spiral, and the Witch Queen Warlock armor set has a Spiral on it.

Neither of these Spirals are even similar in the slightest other than they are Spirals.

It was a made up incorrect opinion that some dumb people on Twitter took as fact because some Content Creator said it.

Eh, there are a lot of other things that make Strand seem way more suited to Witch Queen.

Like it being green and hive-flavored.

Like how Savathun's boss fight repeatedly features "Weavers" tugging on threads.

Like how the enemy faction with spider-like features (look at Golgoroth) is Hive, not Cabal.

How it was heavily implied Savathun was melding Hive magic with the Light.

All of which makes a lot more thematic sense than unexplained PLOT MACGUFFIN on PINK PLANET gives GREEN POWER because a random yahoo says so.

Why do people even want a 6th subclass aside from finishing the full 3/3 set? Strand and ESPECIALLY Stasis get little support outside of their initial launch, compared to the main 3 light subclasses, which are the bread and butter of the game. It would require immense work to change that, and idk if players would like stasis/strand shields, as well as stasis/strand enemy damage. What makes you think that Strife would not end up the same as the previous two?

No need to mention it being "delayed" as the only source for its existence is leaks, Bungo has never acknowledged it. And there is also no precedent for getting 2 new subclasses back-to-back with 2 DLCs:

BL (stasis)
WQ (no new dark subclass, new light subclass content)
LF (strand)
TFS (no new dark subclass, new light subclass content)

people are gonna argue against this regardless man, its so obvious that strand was meant to be in witchqueen that you dont need any official dev to say it, it relevance to lightfall even even lightfall itself makes zero sense.. not to mention when these expansions were announced there was a darkness subclass tied to each expansion, they clearly pivoted at some point.
that being said I really doubt there will be a 3rd class now.. I think they only included what we have because it was to late to backtrack it.
people seem to forget (or just dont know) that lightfall was supposed to be the end, then they pulled finalshape out of a hat

Final shape was always the end, LF got "pulled out of a hat" if you will. Going off the 2020 announcement that literally said "working title" for each of the DLCs after BL is not a good idea, what info they released in 2020 lacks quite a bit of relevance now.

They have never mentioned the potential of a 6th subclass, but the pattern goes as such:

BL (stasis)
WQ (light updates)
LF (strand)
TFS (light updates
and it could VERY possibly be that:
Y8 (strife)
Y9 (light updates)
Y10 (dark updates)
and so on.

Yes to all the above, except BL did have Stasis tied to it when announced. That's why it was called BEYOND LIGHT.
