"They Killed Gambit"
Bungie announced a map and 2 new enemies types for Gambit. That is literally more content than it has seen in YEARS. I get that more was expected but hey, we might see some more in the showcase :steamhappy:

Gambit fans (me) get more than usual, Gambit haters' dream comes true, and Bungie gets to stop caring about said Gambit haters whining constantly. Truly a win all around. Showcase event hype is real.

i honestly dont get what people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about
gambit enjoyers can enjoy the gamemode without playing with teammates who are throwing for challenges
gambit haters dont need to play it ever again

That map they announced is the very one they took away in the first place. It is not new. You can not call it new when it is old re released content. Sorry not gonna drink the kool aid.

I can't really sympathize with the core playlist crowd. There could be 10 new maps for every mode and I don't really think that it would make the overall experience of going into core playlists more enjoyable. That's not to say that I really hate these modes or anything but they're pretty far from the core appeal of the game for me. I really don't think that the majority of people would enjoy the game more whether or not there was a new ritual armor set or a consistent stream of maps.

That being said, there are still people that enjoy those parts of the game and it's understandable they'd feel they're not being properly serviced for their money if their side of the game has a drought of new content.

More maps than before. We are still getting more Gambit content than ever since Joker's Wild.

But Gambit is free, and a paid Gambit or Crucible DLC would lead to riots. So Bungo looks at Crucible and Gambit as money sinkholes because they are. Still, what I got from the SoTG post is that we are getting more Gambit/Crucible content, but not some wide overhaul, just some new tidbits, which as someone who has played over 1000 games of Gambit, is cool but not mindblowing. The really cool stuff is always saved for the showcase event.

Gambit is fun, just balance is utter trash,Gambit free or not,its pointless,no one Enjoy get stomp around by an opposite team player that has OP weapon,Imagine F2P newbie facing a premade Raid team or a team has the most Warlock,EZ wins since Warlock are just too good on PVE.

No class is "the most OP" in PvE, while warlocks have Sunbracers (a F2P exotic BTW) Titans have Synthoceps (F2P exotic BTW) and Hunters have Assassin's Cowl or Liar's Handshake. Throw on 1-2 Punch and Tractor, both of which a F2P can get, and anyone can get that "OP loadout".

Gambit fans are so whipped they're cheering for this
I wish I could get away with doing the bare minimum too

Warlock sunbracers Burn whole room cleaning all the ads, Titan can only finish off 1 enemy with hammer per second.

warlock burn the whole room cleaning all the ads,Hunter Busy take 2 second doge and punch.

Gambit is about how fast you clear ads,and dishing out the most damage.
Warlock has the ads clear speed, also has big damage Super.

you can even go google which class is best for PVE in D2 and the first answer pop out was "Warlock."

But that's less maps than before. In Jokers Wild, we had six maps. Now it's 4. Sometime in a FS year it'll be 5.

Jesus, the amount of copium. Have some self-respect. Bungie literally told you that despite the fact that you are paying 100 dollars every year, despite the fact that they were bought by Sony for crazy amount of money, despite the eververse store that is constantly being updated, despite the paid dungeons, paid event cards, they STILL don't have enough resources to make content for their game. And you're still okay with that, still willing to defend them? What kind of mindset is this?

It's actually a lot worse if you think about it, in Jokers Wild Gambit had 6 maps, specialist armour, and a extra mode for leveling up the armour. Now it just has 4 maps and the odd legendary weapon added every so often. I suppose you could argue that quality over quantity is better but that would require Gambit to actually be a good game mode.

Something im not sure if a lot of people realize that gambit no longer being a required pinnacle means you're regularly only going to be going up against people who *want* to play gambit, Meaning that your lobbies, More often than not, will probably be full of sweats who have the perfect gear to melt down the boss, more-so than before.

It sounds really sweaty or elitist, Sometimes you really needed the randomness of a teammate, It's only going to be dedicated gambit players now, More often than not having an absolute boss bake loadout equipped.

Crucible's crucible, you can make any weapon work really, Even blues (Some blues even have great stats and a perk)

Vanguard is PVE, you want everyone to be good in it to get through it faster.

Gambit's one of the few PVP activities where people can absolutely have a bigger advantage regardless of what you're using, *especially* for newer players, it not being a required pinnacle is likely going to drive the numbers down even MORE than it was before.

I'd say I love bungie, but it legitimately makes no sense to claim that a playlist isn't pulling in the numbers (I can't remember if this was implied or not,) and then going through lengths to make said activity harder to enjoy and get into, They actively create these problems that they run into and then complain that it's not pulling in the numbers. (Looking at you, tin can ritual armor)

Gambit is NOT just about how fast you can kill adds, Sunbracers does work for getting motes, as does any other add clear exotic, but is near useless for primeval DPS or when the amount of adds slows to a crawl. Whereas Synthos and Handshake retain their full capability.

There is no "best class", never has been, never will be.

They could add 1 new enemy to gambit and it would be the biggest update they gave it in years. Community needs to stop acting like when they take something away and give it back its new. If someone takes your shirt for months then gives it back to you it is not new. Somehow we reached a point where they can take and give back and that makes it new. Pretty sure that is not a normal way of thinking.

Biggest update SINCE Joker's Wild. We have not gotten any content like that since, although yeah, it is making up for a deficit.
When I paid 100 Dollars, I expected a new raid, a new campaign, a pile of exotics, and after that 4 seasons with 2 dungeons and a raid. Nowhere in that did it specify new Gambit or Crucible maps, so why should I expect such? I pay money for a thing, and get said thing. I don't expect extra freebies, so when they do come it's a nice surprise.

I wouldn't say it's copium, rather leveled expectations. Also, the Sony 3.6B isn't straight cash into D2 development, it's an acquisition, which means that 3.6 Billion is probably just straight into the pockets of shareholders and various contract holders.
