That's not to say that the seasonal model isn't looking a bit worn. Nor to say that Bungie is clearly putting more energy into its new Marathon project at the moment. Nor to say that their haven't been some connection/networking issues recently. Nor to say that the pricing structures aren't a gradually increasing weight.
But at its core, it's still a fun game. Does it really need to be more complex than that?
when you try to buy the dlc XD if you get all get ready to spend at least a few hundred bucks maybe less if you go to eneba or another seller and not from steam as well if you want seasons and dungeon keys too
It's not predatory. But it's also not whale-centric like a lot of other FTP models. If you want a piece of content, you pay for it. And you pay exactly the same price everyone else does. Some people (foolishly) hope they can "play for free" but no FTP game really works like that. You want entertainment? It costs money.
Do note, Bungie has raised their prices recently, and that always generates negative feedback. Arguably, Destiny 2 is also getting a bit long-in-the-tooth and a bit worn. So there's negativity surrounding all that too.
Ehh, some F2P games can have all the gameplay content accessed for free but the cosmetics are like $20 a pop. Not saying that's a better system but not all F2P games are built the same way.
1750 is the soft cap, so floor drop gear no longer boosts you. After that point, you need powerful/pinnacle rewards, a majority of which are tied to DLC activities, although said DLC activities are almost always the ones needing higher levels anyways. You can still get to higher levels without DLC, but it will take longer. You are definitely getting close to the point where DLC is going to be needed for any more heavily meaningful progression. The "predatory wall" happens when you have 100s or 1000s of hours in the game and are unable to take a break from it or wait for new DLC to go on sale due to personal issues, so you sink $100 into the annual pass on launch, and if disappointed by the launch content you begin to feel like that $100 was a waste. Just stop playing the game when it stops being fun, and don't buy anything that feels too expensive or not worth it.
When did they say that? A game can be flawed yet still fun. Could it be better or more fun? Sure, but it still can be enjoyed in the current state. Raids are still a blast meanwhile PvP is lacking in new maps/modes. New story missions are still cool while there are anticheat and server issues. 2 things can be true at once.
It's not a lie, you can play the game for free. Is it all of the game? No, but you CAN play Destiny 2 without paying money. It's a tad misleading given that the F2P title is usually attached to games where all the gameplay is available for free while with D2 the F2P is just a demo version of the game.
