remember when bungie said years ago that the eververse is what funded the dungeons and was fault of activision that forced them to add the eververse ? that was a lie now they earn more money than ever from the eververse and charge the people 20 dollars per dungeon
this game have the agresive monetization of a expensive F2P without being a F2P even now the destiny content creators are opening their eyes after years of this slowly becoming worse since the split from activision-shadowkeep year
I still cannot believe companies haven't figured out while they will make bank in the short term with these practices, they will kill the playerbase.
Look at the most respected Gaming companies with die hard fanbases and it always starts with them being very upfront, transparent and apparently love the game more than they love money.
CD Project Red because Witcher literally sold 1 Game, gave tons of free DLC and skins and the game was 100% complete. Even after the game was selling they had amazing support and were still upgrading systems. DLC was huge and almost like adding a new game. Great storyline and writing and immersion...Then Cyberpunk became like the new companies attitude and they blew all that work and brand building so next game will lose 50% of what it could have.
Bungie is the worst offender to me. They didnt just make 1 bad mistake like Cyberpunk. They begged us to stay during COOS because we are all they cared about and Destiny was there passion....Obviously they decided right there to blame activision, buy time and develop 2 new games so they could sell to the next company. I guarantee there was a email in company saying from now on ALL DEV HOURS needed to be priortized by monetization and play time retention. Not to put anything back into the game that was not already partially built or able to make money or player time. They decided to reskin and copy paste everything, once every 6 months add new perks, or nerf perks on guns so we need to regrind them. [Foundry perks arent for us but to regrind with no work] Red border systems changed every few months so no old deepsight raid weapons can work now. Also now old red borders only uprdaded through new Premium currency.
Xp was throttled so you cant gain to much daily, Only allowing weekly drops on endgame stuff.
Powers 2.0 and 3.0 made all the seals clap, but what was it really from the companies side? They took 25 abilities and removed 5 didnt add anything new and now allowed you to mix them a bit....So basically more copy paste.
Strand and Stasis were leaked 3 years ago and were partially made at D2 launch.
Strand was poison on thorn and Astio but it made the consoles lag with full raid teams all doing DOT so many numbers and calcs, so they went with spider man,,,But look close and they recycled so much stuff again.
They lead us on while we paid for marathon, which wouldnbt have been as bad if they didnt beg us to come back and asked if they had a small skin shop to pay for the developement....Instead the entire game is rotten with P2Win and they now chop tons of content then readd it as premium.
All the new seasonal weapons are old reskins I paid for in the first DLC
The event tickets are cosmetics. Since when has a Destiny DLC ALSO included all the cosmetics? Also with the "didn't add anything new" bit for the 3.0 subclasses, yes they did. Several new abilities, aspects, and affects were added for the old subclasses.
"Pay more to recieve less" is a bad thing to say in this context, the dungeon pass has led to paying more for more stuff. We used to get MAYBE 1 dungeon a year with MAYBE an exotic and no new weapons, and now we get 2 a year with a new set of weapons and armor with an exotic. I think that paying for WAYYYY better dungeons is worth it because before the dungeon key system, dungeons were very forgettable and now they are sometimes on par with raids in terms of the loot.
The amount of hours you get out of this game is a pittance compared to the cost.
Stop being a baby.
We get two dungeons per year when we used to maybe get one.
The dungeons are better, with better loot.
Doing the above is not free, they could have raised the expansion price, they didn't, it includes a season pass. Or, they could sell the dungeon key separate so those who want to do the dungeons can and those who don't aren't forced to pay a higher price for something they're not going to use.
Even if you pay the full price for the expansion plus annual pass, it breaks down to something like $8.34/month. I paid $60.00 for games in the early 90's that MIGHT have 30 hours of game play, that works out to about $130.00 now.
They should be since marketing shows them as part of the content. Prophecy was free and they set expectations just to kill it with 30th, also they raised expansion prices from 39.99$ to 49.99$

so not only expansions are more expensive but also the content that should be inside season passes because they are themed around it are not included.
And this ladies and gentlement is why Bungie will never stop fleecing you with shady / scummy and confusing DLC prices ... cos no matter how bad it gets there will still be ppl defending it
Lightfall base includes a season pass, that's $10.00, plus $39.99 is $49.99, so where is this increase?
Then how about you point out with facts where I was wrong.
