it seems really the meter thing has little to do with it, I turned up at the pond on Throne World eariler and it was not disturbed by public events for about half an hour. Caught 3 exotics, 8 legendarys, and about 80 everything else, after spending a couple of days trying to catch maybe 1 or 3 legendarys.
There is some weird stuff, it seems after you catch some good stuff you will have a quiet period of catching only blue and green. AS I was bored I was timing the catches, some are under 10 seconds, but the vast majority are between 15 and 25.
Which if you are only catching blue and green is a fairly poor rate at best
first of all, don't just stand still and collect multiple fish at once.
not only does the meter go up from collecting, and not just catching.
but it seems to somehow improve your odds, i can be sure about this, but after i started doing that i caught multiple legendaries and a few exotics, compared to before where i would stand still and not collect until the pond got interrupted by an event, and i would not get a single legendary.
